Work's fairly good for me, i do miss a fix for the race menu interface.. That is "out of shape" maybe a fix later on? by the way the specials like the ' doesn't work with the font, so u get a small square instead.. otherwise nice work. I see that the racemenu fix suppose to be there, but it seems that it won't cooperate.

I got Skyrim LE and this doesn't work for me.

At the side of the screen the graphics get stretched horizontally. It looks really bad.
I tried editing the skyrimprefs.ini to force a resolution of 3440 x 1440 and even played with the FOV, but no luck.

There're only a couple of mods installed via Vortex:
A Quality World Map 8.4 - Classic (Installer)
    Cloaks of Skyrim 1-2
    Cloaks of Skyrim 1-2 Dawnguard
Cutting Room Floor - Deutsche Version
    Immersive Armors v8
Inoffizieller Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch - Deutsche Dwemer Version
    Race Menu v3-4-5
Skyrim HD - 2K Textures - Complete Full
    SkyUI_5_1
Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM - SMIM 2-08
    Ultrawidescreen Fixes For Skyrim LE
    Wearable Lanterns 4.0.2 Release

I start the game via mod organizer.

Why oh why has this mod changed my UI font? I expected it to just provide Ultrawide UI support but it seems this mod is full of completely unrelated, and unwanted changes to the game's files.

The installer has an option to disable/enable installing the custom fonts.

I tired installing this and other but I guess I'm just doing it wrong and I haven't been able to find how to resolve my issue and I would really appreciate some help. The top and bottom part of my SkyUI and Race Menu are cut off. I have a 3840/1080 so idk if it would work with this. Can someone please assist me with this?

Okay, in general this definitely works.  There are a few minor issues, like some particular element of it (e.g. A Matter of Time) showing up mostly off-screen, but this can be fixed in the MCMs that control positioning (especially Less Intrusive HUD II, though probably also Customizable UI Replacer, which can't be used at the same time as Less Intrusive HUD).

The six main things to look out for:
    * Disable the ...\Mod Organizer 2\Mods\Ultrawidescreen Fixes for Skyrim LE\Interface\fontconfig.txt if you're not using Ultrawidescreen Fixes' new fonts.  You can hide it in Mod Organizer 2, or rename it to fontconfig.txt.bak or delete it. (In a manual install - not recommended - it would be ...\Steam Library\SteamApps\Common\Skyrim\Data\Interfaces\fontconfig.txt and presumably the same in NMM or Wrye Bash/BAIN managed installations, also not recommended).
    * LOOT wants to sort this to around the middle of your load order for some reason, but the author is insistent that it needs to be way toward the end.  What I did was edit its entry in LOOT to have a "Load after" condition, and had it load after the very last thing in my load order, other than my customized copy of Race Records Master (the entire point of which requires it to be THE very last mod loaded, no matter what, even after smashed or bashed patch).
    * If you're using Mod Organizer 2 (strongly recommended), the Skyrim config files you need to edit (including for things like screen resolution) are not the ones in ...\Steam Library\SteamApps\Common\Skyrim\, but the ones in ...\Mod Organizer 2\Profiles\[Name of profile you're using]\
    * You need to set the following in the SkyrimPrefs.ini in that location, in its [Display] section:
      iSize H=1440
      iSize W=3440
(or some other 21:9 resolution).  This mod is not for all extra-wide screen ratios, only 21:9 ones.
    * You need to INSTALL the mod very late (have it late in MO2's left-pane priority list, not just load its ESP late), after all other user-interface mods, or they'll at least partially override what this mod is doing.  Author says an exception is console replacements, but you don't need to use one since this has Mfg Console and Better Console integrated already (you can add Copy and Paste in Console if you like; that's just an SKSE plugin and not relevant to ESP or Interface load order).
    * The FOMOD installer incorrectly says that every option it has is "recommended", and also does other not-quite-right things like has RaceMenu and Extended Character Edit patches both turned on at once by default, despite them generally being mutually incompatible chargen overhauls.  Turn off everything you don't need.  Given all the complaints here about this mod trying to do too much, including lots of stuff unrelated to "ultrawidescreen fixes", you should probably disable everything that clearly doesn't have anything to do with that, like new fonts, load screen changes, and new mouse cursors, for starters.  The FOMOD is also a bit unclear; you have to read each option very carefully. In some cases it is installing a patch for a mod you have also installed already, and in other cases it's installing a built-in version or equivalent of that mod, and you'll need to disable the original if present - in the cases of Better Messagebox Controls, Better Dialogue Controls, Mfg Console, Better Console, Better Item Card (and the equivalent in Frostfall), and Atlas Map Markers (as well as font and cursor replacers if you use this mod's approach to those, which can't be recommended).

People getting abject failures are almost certainly installing and/or loading this mod in the wrong order, either manually or while using outdated mod management tools like NMM or Wrye Bash's BAIN.

In my testing so far, the game in general worked.  Console worked, including with Mfg Console features.  In-game notices (top left) worked.  A Matter of Time did load, but needs position adjustment.  RaceMenu worked, including the top-right items someone else reported as inaccessible.  MCM system worked, as did individual MCMs.  Native menus worked (like the main menu).  I have not tested every single interface type in the game yet, but so far so good.

Anyway, kudos to ciathyza for getting us this far. The other attempts at producing ultra-wide solutions for Oldrim seem to have only been partial successes at best.  I do wish the developer would return and work on this some more, though.  The thread below is correct that this needs to be broken up into either separate installers or a better FOMOD that allows people to skip things that are not pertinent to "ultrawidescreen fixes" in particular (and actually disable them, not half-disable them like with the current font stuff).

Is there any solution to the issue where letters get displayed as boxes, without using the "Improved Fonts" option? They're not an improvement for me personally, it would be great to be able to keep the vanilla font.

it means that fonts are missing that the game wants to use. You need to edit the fontconfig.txt to suit to your available fonts or vanilla fonts.

No it doesn't mean that.  :-)  It means this mod installed a config file for its own fonts package which Glibber73 told it not to install at all.  The solution is to hide/remove the fontconfig.txt not edit it.  I just fixed this myself in my own game.  There's nothing wrong with or missing with regard to the game and fonts its expects; they are still in the vanilla BSAs where they've always been.

This mod worked great for many many playthroughs. Recently I had a weird problem where my screen looked like it was 640x480 being stretched to 3440x1440 lol. Anyway I ended up fixing that and in the process I reinstalled this mod. Well when I reinstalled this mod I forgot to UNCHECK the better fonts in the optional part of the installation, I prefer the default font. After going in game and seeing the new font, it bugged me so much I went back out and reinstalled the mod again this time unchecking the better fonts. Now all my fonts are squares and I can't get the default font back. If I reinstall and check the better fonts, it works fine with the new font, but if I uncheck the better fonts all I get is squares now. How can I get the default font back? I am using the Ultimate Skyrim mod pack, so maybe what I consider to be default is something that Ultimate Skyrim changed, but as far as I can tell Ultimate Skyrim doesn't change any fonts, neither do any of the mods it uses. It should be the same font as vanilla Skyrim.

EDIT: I fixed it, not exactly sure how I found the file, I right clicked on ultrawidefixes in MO2, then just went digging around in the ini somewhere and deleted anything that said fonts lol.

EDIT2: The font style got fixed, but now the tooltips in my inventory are a bit wonky, the item description overlaps with the item name and weight, ugh, this sucks. Just going to reinstall everything from scratch ;(

EDIT3: LOL after a full re-install of Ultimate Skyrim my first start up of the game had the square text, after spending another 30 minutes trying to figure out wtf is going on, deleting those files with the word Font in them once again fixed it, but this time the tooltip wasn't overlapping. No idea wtf happened, but it's working now lol. Not sure exactly what those files were called exactly, they were located in the filetree in MO2 under the interface folder. 2 files, one was a config file and the other was a txt file.

More specifically, the culprit was the presence of ...\Mod Organizer 2\Mods\Ultrawidescreen Fixes for Skyrim LE\Interface\fontconfig.txt (which gets installed even if you tell the FOMOD you don't want the new fonts).  Simply renaming to something like fontconfig.txt.bak fixed it in my case. I did that rather than delete it, because I might actually want to try out the new fonts.  There also might actually be a way to configure that file to use the vanilla fonts, and it seems geared to also using it with other custom font mods, since you can add one as a "library" at the top of the file, then specify which named font you want to use for what.  I didn't mess with that; I just wanted to get the boxes gone and the real letters back.

Also, if your visuals look stretched to fit your resolution, it's because your resolution is not set properly in the [Display] section of the SkyrimPrefs.ini found in ...\Mod Organizer 2\Profiles\[Name of profile you're using]\ (or, if you're not using Mod Organizer 2, probably in your main Skyrim directory, e.g. ...\Steam Library\SteamApps\Common\Skyrim\).

Is it correct that all of the following should be removed as standalone mods because they're included (in tweaked form) in this one? That's what the FOMOD's text seems to imply:

    Better Messagebox Controls
    Better Disalogue Controls
    MFG Console
    Better Console
    Better Fonts
    Atlas Map Markers

All the rest of the options appear to imply that mods must be installed separately and that the FOMOD options for them are patches. But for those 6 it instead implies integrated installers.

[Edit: To answer my own question after some experimentation: My interpretation above was correct, and Better Item Card is another mod that is integrated and should not be loaded as a stand-alone mod.]
