About this mod

Changes the Guardian Stones to always affect crafting skills, letting you save resources and time by not forcing you to fast travel around just to make monotonous grinding easier..

  • TL:DR?

Ever burn all of your supplies grinding Alchemy only to realize that you were using the wrong standing stone and could've saved some ingredients by switching over to the Thief Stone? With this, that's no longer as much of a problem: the grindheavy, purely noncombat crafting skills always get a 20% boost as long as you're using at least one of the three Guardian Stones.

  • Full Explanation?

That's . . . pretty much it, actually. I made this because it's annoying having to switch stones around just to grind crafting. I don't consider this overpowered since these are things you primarily gain experience in while chilling back at base, where a quick fast travel back and forth would be simple. This just saves time.

I might add a version that also includes the Lover Stone later: I still think it's balanced this way and also, I just didn't think of that one while I had the Creation Kit open. I have no plans to add a new XP-boost effect to standing stones that don't already have one, though.

  • Optional: Crafter's Guardian Stones Plus

The Plus version came about as I was looking through exactly what was affected by those three stones and noticed a few things I didn't like. This version does all of the above and also adds:
>One Handed to the Thief Stone -- because it fits.
>Light Armor and Archery to the Warrior Stone -- because it had the least skills affected. It still has more mutually exclusive skills than the other two (you're really only likely to be training one weapon and one armor skill at a time) but it's a little bit better now.

These are personal preferences and outside of the main idea of the mod -- but some people might prefer the changes so I've put them in as an option.

  • What about the Aetherial Crown?

It probably works with this mod. I haven't tested it. Don't use it to stack Guardian Stones if you think that would be overpowered, which it is. I have no plans to address this since messing with the scripts on the crown is beyond my ability.and I don't think it would be possible to fix the overlap without completely overhauling how the crown works.

  • Those screenshots look horrible!

Yes, they do! I took them on my laptop, which is running Oldrim on very low settings. There's no visual component to this mod, though, so I figured it wouldn't matter -- and I made this while waiting for Script Extender to update for Special Edition on my desktop so it's the best I could do at the moment.
