About this mod

A shout-based ability for Dawnguard to toggle the vampire attacks.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
This adds a lesser power to the spells menu which can be used to toggle the vampire attacks.

It works by setting the global value used to set the minimum level of the player at which the attacks will occur. By default it is level 8, but the toggle will set it to level 999 which effectively disables it. Casting the shout again will revert it to level 8. It can safely be used at a whim, as long as a spawn hasn’t already been triggered they simply shouldn’t spawn at all until the shout is used again to enable them. A standard debug notification appears when used so it is easy to tell what the effect has just done.

I don't know what this could conflict with, there are several mods going which do the same kind of thing so it would be best to ensure only one is active. This one may be more advantageous because it doesn’t require wearing anything or switching from weapon to spell, it uses one very small script and overrides only a single global value.

If uninstalling this, you have two choices: you either leave the effect “enabled” (which puts the required level to the default of 8) so that attacks can occur, or you have it disabled so that the level is stuck at 999 and the attacks can never occur. In other words you can install it, disable the attacks and then remove the mod if you never intend to enable the attacks ever again. In either case, uninstalling it may leave an orphaned reference or two but should be benign; fast-travelling and then saving immediately afterwards is my usual advice.

What I have here is just a little tool for one purpose. If however you want a more thorough feature, you could try Timing is Everything as it has an option for this and plenty more.
