Dremora are a race of immortal warrior Daedra that usually inhabit the realms of Oblivion. According to lore, the Dremora are among the deadliest fighters in existence, but the few you encounter in Skyrim are mid-to-low difficulty foes and are often underwhelming. This mod has been designed as a balanced, lore-friendly improvement of the Dremora in Skyrim designed to make Dremora difficult opponents that can rival other deadly foes (such as Draugr, Vampires, Falmer, etc.) without making them overpowered.

New Equipment
New weapons and armor are introduced to be used by the various different classes of Dremora.
Some new armors are also obtainable by the player.

New Spells
The Dremora will make use of new Alteration and Destruction spells.
New conjuration spells are also available for the player.

New Stats
Dremora have improved strengths, weaknesses, combat styles, stats and perks, all designed to
make them deadly foes without making them over-powered.

This mod was originally made to complement ZIA (particularly the Sanguine Rose, but this will also affect the Wabbajack and the quests of Azura, Mehrunes Dagon and Clavicus Vile). The two mods are fully compatible.

Dremora Staves
Dremora mages will occasionally wield Dremora staves, which can be looted from them provided they aren't summoned. Dremora Staves are made from a unique material (designed to look like the Harrada Roots of Oblivion) and will always be enchanted with fire magic. The quality of the staff you can obtain will depend on the level of the Dremora wielding it...the stronger the Dremora, the stronger the staff.

Dremora Weapons
All Dremora will carry Dremora weapons, which can be looted from them provided they aren't summoned (the exception are the highest-level Dremora, who will carry Daedric weapons). Dremora weapons have the appearance and weight of Daedric weapons (as they did in Oblivion), but they are leveled to inflict less damage, ensuring they are balanced.

All Dremora weapons have a 20% chance to be enchanted with fire.

It's worth noting that since Dremora weapons inflict less damage but weigh the same as Daedric weapons, they are inferior to lighter weapons that inflict the same damage as they require more stamina to wield without inflicting additional damage.

Dremora Equipment
Some Dremora will carry Dremora Shields, which can be looted from them provided they aren't summoned. These shields are leveled in the same way as Dremora weapons.

Apart from Dremora Shields, you cannot loot the armor from most Dremora. You can, however, loot armor from Dremora Valkynaz, the highest-level Dremora. The Valkynaz warriors wear Daedric Armor, Daedric Gauntlets and Daedric Boots. The Valkynaz mages wear Dremora Robes, a new clothing item. There are no Valkynaz archers and so their armor can never be obtained.

Four variants of Dremora Robes exist: a black version, a black hooded version, a red version, and a red hooded version. Dremora Valkynaz wear the black (un-hooded) version, and without console commands killing a Valkynaz is the only way to obtain the black Dremora Robes. Unique examples of the other robes can be obtained elsewhere: the black Hooded Dremora Robes can be looted from Malyn Varen. The red Dremora Robes are under Sebastian Lort's bed. The red Hooded Dremora Robes can be found in Mehrunes Dagon's Shrine.

Alteration Spells
Dremora mages will make use of new leveled armor spells that fortify fire resistance and increase armor rating. The spells are named Moltenflesh, Lavaflesh, Magmaflesh and Daedraflesh.

The player can acquire spell tomes for these spells, but they're hard to come by. A Lavaflesh tome can be found in the Shrine of Mehrune's Dagon. There is a small chance to loot the tomes from dead Dremora mages. Recipes at the Atronach Forge exist to acquire these tomes (see the detailed table for the recipes).

Conjuration Spells
Unique spell tomes have been placed throughout Skyrim that will allow you to summon Dremora Archers, Soldiers, Knights and Mages. Because these tomes are unique, they're very difficult to come across unless you know where to find them. The detailed table gives information on where to find these tomes, and pictures have been added to the image gallery (at the top of the page) that show exactly where the tomes are sitting.

Destruction Spells
Unlike the new Alteration and Conjuration spells, new spell tomes cannot be obtained for the new Destruction spells, all of which are fire spells used by Dremora Mages. Some of the new spells can, however, be used through the staves (see the New Equipment section above).

Dremora Warriors
Dremora that fight with melee weapons are now far more aggressive in battle. They will rarely block or defend themselves, opting for quicker, relentless attacks instead. All Dremora warriors can swing weapons 15% faster, so even Warhammer-wielding Dremora can inflict a lot of damage quickly.

The rank of a Dremora Warrior can be quickly determined by their equipment. Churls, the lowest rank, carry a Dremora Mace. Caitiff's the next rank up, carry a Mace and a Shield. Kynvals carry a Sword and also wear a Helmet, Kynmarcher's have a Sword, a Shield and a Helmet, and Markynaz's wear a Helmet and wield a Greatsword. The highest rank, the Valkynaz, wears no Helmet and wields a Daedric Warhammer. All Dremora weaponry has a 20% chance to be enchanted with fire.

Encounters with Dremora Warriors have not be expanded. Encountered Dremora warriors will generally be of a higher level, will have greater health and stamina, will use more power attacks and have more perks. It's also worth noting that the Dremora that can be summoned in the Atronach Forge now have a random chance to be either a Warrior, Mage or Archer class.

Please note: the detailed table of information on Dremora warriors includes vanilla stats for comparison.

Dremora Mages
Like Dremora warriors, Dremora mages are more aggressive. They will use the new armor spells, and stronger mages will conjure atronachs, but they will mostly use fire spells (often with a fire spell equipped in each hand). Furthermore, all Dremora mages can cast fire spells for 35% less magicka, and the stronger Mages have perks that increase the magnitude of their fire spells. Against foes that have high fire resistance, however, Dremora mages will revert to using a dagger, which all Dremora carry.

Encounters with Dremora mages have not be expanded. Encountered Dremora mages will generally be of a higher level, will have greater health and magicka, will use more powerful fire spells and have more perks. Some Mages will also carry leveled fire staves. It's also worth noting that the Dremora that can be summoned in the Atronach Forge now have a random chance to be either a Warrior, Mage or Archer class.

Dremora Archers
The vanilla Creation Kit includes Dremora archers, but they are bugged and unused. Dremora archers are the weakest Dremora you can encounter, though as archers go, they are some of the best in Skyrim. Unlike most archers, Dremora will continue using their bows even when foes are close by, ensuring they inflict the most damage possible. All Dremora archers have the quickshot perk as well, so they fire much faster than most archers. Dremora Bows have a 20% chance to be enchanted with fire.

Two Dremora archers have been added to Skyrim, both of which can be found in Rimerock Burrow. It's also worth noting that the Dremora that can be summoned in the Atronach Forge now have a random chance to be either a Warrior, Mage or Archer class.

In addition to the new content and changes mentioned above, the following features have been changed:
- New Dremora hairstyles have been implemented that prevent the clipping of horns and hair through helmets and hoods
- The following vanilla cells have been amended: Ilinalta's Deep (IlinaltasDeep01), Rimerock Burrow (RimerockBurrow01), and the Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon (MehrunesDagonShrine)
- The Atronach Forge recipe lists have been amended to incorporate the new spell tomes and to ensure any levelled Dremora is summoned from the forge instead of guaranteeing it's a Dremora warrior
- The NPC, Malyn Varen, who is encountered during the quest "The Black Star", has been updated so that he now wears Hooded Dremora Robes
