About this mod

Using a mod that removes Lightning Storm? This mod adds it back!

Permissions and credits
This is a simple mod designed to restore the Master Level Destruction spell Lightning Storm.

Use this mod to return Lightning Storm to your game, regardless of changes made by any of your other spell mods!

<-- Description -->

I created this mod as a patch for playing my favorite build, The Force Adept, and favorite magic mod, Mighty Magick Skyrim.

If you haven't tried the build, the idea is to use a little-known glitch with the spell Circle of Protection to create small areas of infinite magicka, causing you to be a stand-your-ground spell-slinger.  It's a lot of fun to play and very powerful when done right, but balanced by still being a squishy mage.  You really have to think out your positioning, or you'll die in one or two hits.

<-- Why Make this Mod? -->

Mighty Magick adds an effect to Circle of Protection that makes the glitch activation steps detailed below unnecessary.  After playing the build many, many times, I got tired of always having to keep an eye on my absorption.  Using Mighty Magicka fixed all that in a heartbeat!

UNFORTUNATELY, it also changes the Master Level Destruction spell Lightning Storm.  While I think the author did a good job with that spell, it just doesn't work well with this build.  So I simply copied the original Lightning Storm spell, renamed it to Particle Beam per the build, and added the tome to Faralda's inventory.  This mod has no dependencies, and all spells have original names to help with compatibility.

<-- Suggested Mods -->
Disparity -- Not only is this a really well-done mod, the changes it adds to the Breton class and Atronach stone play really nicely with this build!
Mighty Magick Skyrim -- Naturally ^_^

<-- Details on the Glitch -->
If you'd like to try the vanilla glitch, here's a YouTube link on how to activate the absorption affect for Circle of Protection:

If this video gets removed, check out the link to the Force Adept build, or follow these instructions:

1. Acquire spell absorbtion, either through the Atronach Stone, Atronach Perk, or other mod.  You don't need 100% spell absorption, but a higher % will lead to shorter down-times in your magicka reserves

2. Summon a Storm Atronach

3. Punch it till it gets mad!

4. Wait for it to do the crouching explosion attack.  You'll know you have the right one when it's arms(?) fold in like it's holding its stomach.

5. Once hit by that attack, dispel the Atronach as soon as possible.  You don't want it to cast another explosion!  You can either kill it outright, summon another benign Atronach, or use the Conjuration Perk Oblivion Binding with a bound weapon.

6. Viola!  You should now see the spell-absorption visual distortion whenever you're inside the Circle.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
-- Getting hit by an explosion will toggle this ability off  INCLUDING YOUR OWN.  This includes Rune spells and the explosion from multiple Fire spells
-- The Master level Restoration spell Guardian Circle will ALWAYS give the absorption affect, but takes much longer to cast.
-- Simply repeat these steps if you find yourself without absorption.
