Tell me if there is a way to fix the following problems: 1. An error appears when the program is minimized. the fact is that after folding, the program stops editing poses, even if you save them 2. After saving, the program rolls back the position of the bones to the penultimate state. have to constantly reopen the saved files to see the latest change
and I have a suggestion to adapt this program for all other creatures, not just for humanoid creatures.
To any of you who struggle with crashes when trying to get this working. Specially those still in Win7 (I'm on win7 and got it working now).
1 Clarification: The texture files and the mesh files must be moved to the tool's download folder itself. We're not talking about about Skyrim\data\meshes and texture folder here. But the folder "data" inside the tool folder itself.
Step 2: The body meshes. don't use an high poly body such as BHUNP or the like. Go ahead and find simple nif files from the old early days. Preferably those that does not contain any submeshes such as "vagina", "Canal" etc... I crashed big time when trying to use BHUNP.
Step 3: The textures. This is the step that requires you to do some work. You must convert textures to jpg and afterwards rename them to dds by just changing the extension name of the files.

I've tried installing NVidia DDS Viewer (which does not seem to enable thumbnails for dds in explorer as intended) and the Microsoft Camera Codec pack but still crashes with error WINCODEC_ERR_COMPONENTNOTFOUND if I put the textures into the data\textures folder. .Net is current version (4.7.2)
*edit: a workaround for this: convert the DDS files to jpg, remove the dds files and rename jpg extensions to dds. works." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I converted the texture by opening them in GIMP and exporting them as jpg. After I placed them in the data\texture folder I simply renamed them and changed extension from jpg to dds. I also reduced the resolution on the texture files to 1024. I don't if that is necessary.
Well, the only way I get it to work is by not adding nif or dds files to their folders. I assume they were supposed to go into "hkx/data" correct? It just crashes if I put stuff there.
I have a similar experience, my friend. You're definitely not alone. I use Windows 7 with 4.8 Microsoft .NET Framework and the hkxPoser.exe application doesn't work with mine either, once the specified meshes/textures are loaded. I wonder if it's something to do with the textures, from the testing I've done. I also wonder if it's something to do with Windows 7, overall.
It's hard to say, but I would also love to get this handy tool to eventually work for sure. Hopefully someday.
This tool is great, but does anyone know how to see or input the exact rotation angle? I'm trying to rotate an animation by exactly 180 degrees. Thanks!
The easiest way would be to select the NPC COM bone, zoom it in as close as possible (keep the right mouse button pressed and move the mouse down). Now take a piece of paper, press it on your screen and place its edge exactly along the bone's x or y axis, press on the right column "Z", keep the mouse button pressed and move the cursor in the left or right direction, thus rotating the whole structure along the bone's z axis, until your orientation line (either x or y axis) reappears along the paper's edge again, and save the file. Right now, to me this way seems to be the only possibility of achieving it as exactly as possible.

Without nifs, you cant adjust bones precisely.

Bottom line, you can get this to work on win7.
I've tried all advice that I read in the comments but the program immediately crashes no matter what I do.
