Note: If you are having any issues which have been mentioned in past posts, know that the issues have been resolved, and if you still have them, it is 100% due to installation problems or failing to remove all files from older versions of Legacy, usually involving NMM. Review your installation, ensure you are up to date with Legacy and Relic hunter and that no loose scripts remain behind before starting your new game. This has been tested over and over again by people inside the development circle and outside and proven to work as intended without fail. If you continue to have issues, it is with your installation. I'm so sorry, can I have a hint as to where to find the mechanism to open the inner sanctum? I've combed all three rooms of the dungeon available before it a hundred times on two different days and I'm still coming up empty. I'm a little bit daft, so I'm sure I'm just going at it the wrong way, or looking for the wrong thing. Best I can figure is it has something to do with the empty chest or lighting the fires up top, but I don't have flames yet and tossing random s#*! into the chest isn't doing much.
Edit: Evidently, I have the amazing ability to look directly at something several times and not see it. Thank you for letting me complain, thus completing the cosmic requirement of embarrassment needed to solve the problem.
so when trying to start it after getting into the prison bed it CTDs upon loading...this is completely new set up and the other starts work fine. ys i have legacy installed...v 19.3.6 moved the plugin to the bottem but before Requiem for the Indifferent.esp and Dual Sheath Redux Patch.esp bc both has that as a master and DynDOLOD.esp and have the mod itself loaded after LofD and LAL. it overwites nothing in my load order nor is it overwitten. im using MO
dont know if this will say anything but its also a STEP:Extended build
If STEP is involved you may want to consult them, often times just tweaking the load order a bit fixes things like this. Assuming no other mod is replacing assets used with bad version, I wouldn't think it's a mesh crash, so it must be something with the STEP load order would be my guess. I hear the current guide for Legacy is a bit out of date because it covers V18 and V19 works quite a bit differently.
First, I am loving this addon, it is my first mod. And has made the game a lot more exciting. Second, once I reached the Guild house I talked to Kyre Oldenson about prospecting ore that I've found, and the dialogue drops and he bids me a good day. Nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a quick fix? TIA. My apologies if this has been addressed before.
Would it be possible for a version without the LAL start and requirement, for those that use other alternate start mods and just want the relic hunter content?
That's kind of impossible considering you've set LAL as a master. I don't think I need to explain how having 2 alternate start mods active is a bad idea :/
Edit: After Re-reading the whole thing again I think you have somehow confused "other alternate start" mods as meaning other LAL Addons. I'm talking about other mods that handle changing how you start the game, like skyrim unbound. My question/request was a version of the mod that had the relic hunter content such as the guild/dungeons and story (i guess?) as a separate mod without requiring the specific LAL mod, as in its current state lists it as a master mod and thus requires it to be active and loaded.
Yeah doing that would require basically reinventing the wheel and doing what LAL already does amazingly well. If another mod author wanted to make variant of Relic Hunter that worked with your other game start mod (whichever one that is), I'd be amendable, but it's not something I have time for.
If I may be so bold to add a suggestion? It would seem like some of the NPCs (Mainly Farlan and his horse.) easily gets killed by creatures in the area. (In my case, a giant frostspider. I suspect it is a mod which adds it.)
My suggestion is to add the protected tag to these NPCs. (I did so manually with TES5Edit though. But not everyone may be very knowledgeable with TES5Edit.)
It is however, just a suggestion though. Do whatever you wish with this, or not.
as stated above, the khajiit isn't important. Karl is the only critical one and I will update it so that the crew is essential though to prevent the wildlife overhaul mods from making them dead on arrival lol
I had this working fine before, but now when I play it I get missing tents and equipment when I awake in the camp - then the armour on my companion into the ruin is invisible so he is just head, arms and feet - then the akaviri katana is showing up purple - I wasn't able to pick up the backpack, the compass or anything except the bow and blade and boots - is this a glitch or is it another mod (which is so easy to blame this on)
Alright, so I'm looking for a set of armor that was included in this addon originally. This greenish armor that the Dragonborn would wear when first starting the game... This was a couple years back however , I was just wondering if it was still anywhere in DBG? I really liked the look of this armor and would love to have it again.

I do think this armor was available through another mod though was included in DBG, if the armor's not in DBG I'd like to know that mod.
I was able to locate it in a play through of the mod from 2015 (the last time I played with this mod) it's called "Relic Hunter Leather Armor". It's such an obscure thing that googling for it is borderline impossible, and my search in the early game has turned up nothing.
OHHH yeah sorry I replied on the Legacy page about this thinking you meant the explorer's guild armor. You were meaning the leather armor you get at the relic hunter start. That set is only given when you start the Relic Hunter Legacy LAL solitude dock start. You can console a set in, just console HELP "RELIC HUNTER" and it should list the pieces.
Found a rather problematic glitch upon using this start. Just talked to the guy who wakes you up, then I went to get my tools/gear. The quest arrows are pointing to an empty table, with no tools in sight with the exception of the backpack (which is purple) and a pickaxe. Since there are no tools to pick up, I cannot advance the quest. As a result, the quest is broken. Any ideas on how to fix this?
So as it turns out my problem was that I didn't have the latest version of Legacy of the Dragonborn installed, which is not surprising considering the latest update dropped two days ago. Installing the new version fixed the Relic Hunter start and it works like a charm. All I need is a hat, a torch, and a whip and I'll have myself a good playthrough. Sorry for my stupidity in this regard, looking forward to the full Legacy mod in my next playthrough!
i am having a problem that i saw a number of people were also having, when i use this start , the everything until entering the gallery works great, however when giving the tour, auryen gets stuck on the rope in front of the hall of heroes and then after finishing his tour i cannot talk to him as he is always marked as busy. i have tried twice with this start and it occured however it did not occur if i started with the start with the boat. i have also never used any unofficial patch so that could not be the problem.
please help me so that i can enjoy your wonderful mods.
I started with a brand new game and a fresh install of Legacy and it also did it to me as well. I completed the quests given at the dig site. I went back and started the quest from the Solitude docks and the area was still roped off but he turned and gave me the key for upstairs and it progressed just fine.
Once the quest "an interesting prospect" completes, the ropes and sign are removed from the Museum. This quest is completed at the dig site once you complete that correctly. If the ropes are still up at the museum when you get there after this addons LAL start, then you are not completing the dig site quest correctly. I just did it twice with no issues.
im sorry but i did this on a fresh install of skyrim and of v19 ran loot cleaned all files in tes 5 edit and have done the bash patch but just because you cant replicate a bug after two attempts does not mean that there is not a bug. It simply means your cant replicate it and it is abundantly clear that there is a bug because there are to many people having the same problem for it to be a coincidence.
That's the thing. Unless any of us in the team can replicate it, we can't assume it's a bug. None of us have any idea what any of your setups look like. How about listing your load order in spoiler tags so we can look at it. I'd also like you to try a new game with ONLY Legacy, ASLAL and this mod and see what happens.
i am still having the same problem but im pretty sure its not this mods fault i thing its legacy 19 because i just tried a different start from the guild master start and went to talk to the curator and did his first quest and it just repeats his first quest over and over asking for the sixthhousebell hammer
What about the guild master start though? That's the one I wanted you to try with only those 3 mods installed. Finish the dig site quest correctly and then go to the museum.
it did the same thing as before. when i finish akaviri rising it doesnt set show karl drakensang as complete. This also happens in the other non guild master start when i try to show the hammer to the curator. Thats why ive come to the conclusion its something with v19 no this mod. Im probably just going to play on v18
But it's not though. If it was EVERYONE would be having the same problem. It's your install. It HAS to be. If you tried to install v19 with v18 still on your computer you messed up. Delete Legacy COMPLETELY and reinstall it. That was what you needed to do in the first place.
We ran 5 weeks of Alpha and beta testing with various load orders with about a dozen people testing this addon alongside the testing of Legacy V19, so unless something got screwed up in a V19 hotfix, (which is plausible), this addon does, definitively, without any shred of a doubt, work 100% properly with V19.0
I will swap over my clean copy and try the guildmaster start on V19.0.4 and see if it works.
Alright so I just tested a clean install with Legacy V19.0.4, USLEEP, SkyUI, LAL and Relic Hunter and everything worked 100% as intended. I showed the reward to Karl, he told me about the museum and "an interesting prospect" concluded and " Dragonborn gallery " began. I went to the museum and there was no rope, auryen greeted me, we spoke about his needing a relic hunter and about the excavation and he showed me the gallery like normal, gave me the notes and key and all was fine.
One observation here is the sixth house bellhammer. That is from "an interesting prospect" which is not the quest branch you get when starting as a relic hunter, the quest you get is " Dragonborn gallery " which gives you a note about 3 possible leads (helgen, bleak falls and silent moons camp).
these issues you are having can be caused by 1 of 2 things only: 1 - a Legacy patch conflict with a patch that edits the Museum main quest handler (which none do specifically because of potential conflicts) or 2 - you have loose files from V18 somewhere interfering with the V19 install. If you have loose legacy files installed you should purge your game install and start fresh, if using MO make sure all previous legacy installs are removed. it seems that 75% of all the catastrophic issues people are reporting with this new version are due to people having out of date or leftover files from other versions or conflicting patches. Everything needs to be 100% clean before starting with V19 install if it's going to work.
I know it seems weird because it has been reported several times but if 1000 people stabbed their hands and came forward saying they all started bleeding for no reason, doesn't make it true I'm gonna have to go with the exhaustive testing of the alpha and beta crew (many who know legacy inside and out) and the extreme control copy testing I have personally done as the truth of what is happening. It has to be a weird conflict somewhere we don't know about if it's not the two reasons I stated above, and yes we would very much like to get to the bottom of where the issue is, but it's not RH addon and it's not Legacy V19.
I am having the same issue, i uninstalled legacy and all patches, then did a clean install and new game, it still didnt work. when finishing the digsite it gives the complete to that and to the 'digging up explorers' quest, but doesn't say an ' interesting prospect' was completed. is there a command to use to auto complete it to make this work again?

This simply can't happen on a new save on a fresh install of v19 of Legacy.
This quest is completed at the dig site once you complete that correctly.
If the ropes are still up at the museum when you get there after this addons LAL start, then you are not completing the dig site quest correctly.
