      Well - There is another Mod on the nexus here that works for Max 2020 and 2021.

      you have to manually install 2 files within matching folders in max ---  If your files are set up correctly it will export -- I did my predators mod with it. 
      IF you have errors with anything though in your file when you export - it will fail with next to no error message help..

      The plugin was probably installed in the wrong directory. Find where it was installed and paste it where your 3ds max folder is. worked for me

      Dontcha just hate it when you ask a question and only the crickets respond.The installer apparently couldn't find my 3ds 2018 install directory in Windows 10 so it dumped it in c:\
      program files\autodesk\3ds max 2018\plugins\ Just copy this 'plugins' directory to the real 3ds 2018 directory and all should be well.

      My apologies to the crickets.

    I'm working on an automatic port of Fallout 4 to Unreal Engine 5, with great success. See more details here
    I am using Max 17 and converting nif to fbx. But about 0.5% meshes failed to convert. I'm wondering if I can pick your brains and/or get the source code to the plug-in. ?Thanks!

    The installer sometimes seems not to recognize root installation of 3ds max [if you installed it on disc other than C:\program files]

    To fix this issue just browse in program files on drive C in Autodesk folder [C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2016\plugins] and copy files: [HavokEngine.exe and NifPlugin.dlu] and manually paste them in location where you installed Autodesk on your mashine, like in my case on drive D: [D:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2016\plugins]
    It works on 2015 version as well 2014 of Autodesk.

    And everything works flawlessly :)

    How do I export modified bones in 3ds max?I use the plug-in "NIF plugin for 3ds Max 2015-2018" to import NIF and modify the bones of the arm, but the exported NIF does not have these modified bones. I tried all kinds of parameters.

    I'm not installing the plugin on my pc I need help, I finish the installation and the .nif doesn't appear in 3ds max 2018
