About this mod

Provides a smithable, temperable and enchantable version of armor, clothing and/or shields in heavy and light armor form, at Daedric (for heavy) or Dragonscale (for light) armor rating. Now you can wear what you want without losing armor rating over it.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Ever had to leave a nice-looking piece of armor or clothing behind because it was simply too weak to be of use later in the game?
This mod aims to let you use a wide variety of armor (including shields) and clothing items at Daedric (heavy armor) or Dragonscale (light armor) strength. This mod is for those people who'd like to be able to wear specific armor/clothing throughout the game based on the aesthetic look, without having to compromise in terms of defense against attacks.

This mod requires Dawnguard and Dragonborn. It does not replace any existing armor pieces or clothing, but provides a new version of existing armors and clothing that you can smith, temper/improve, and enchant as you see fit. For each piece of armor, or clothing, this mod adds a light armor version which weighs less and has Dragonscale armor rating, as well as a heavy armor version which weighs more and has Daedric armor rating. You need the Dragon Armor smithing perk in order to smith the light armor and in order to temper/improve it to Legendary. You need the Daedric Smithing perk in order to smith the heavy armor and in order to temper/improve it to Legendary. Without these perks, the armors won't show up in the smithing list, so work up towards those perks or add them via console if you wish to take the easy route (Daedric Smithing - player.addperk cb413 / Dragon Armor - player.addperk 52190).
This mod includes armor pieces that are normally enchanted by default but makes them into 'regular' armor pieces so you can enchant them yourself.

There are too many items this mod adds to list in this description, so I have included a Mod Item List text file in the optional files for you to check out if you're curious.

PLEASE NOTE: This mod was made for myself first and foremost, and I have all three DLC. THIS MOD REQUIRES DAWNGUARD AND DRAGONBORN. This mod was a pain in the ass to make, bla bla bla, I don't at this time intend to make other versions of it - as in, a version for vanilla only / Dawnguard only / Dragonborn only. If you want to make another version of this mod yourself, sure - message me and I may be able to give you some overview of what I did.

ANOTHER SMALL NOTE: If you have mods that replace the look of armors/clothing in the game, then the items added by this mod will probably use the same adjusted look, since they should draw on the same model/texture files as the original armors and clothing.

If you find there's something wrong with the mod, let me know in the comments. Maybe it's something I can fix, maybe not.

ANNOUNCEMENT: What if you could do something like this where every model is usable as you want, but for weapons instead? Well, I already did that here - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/83136.
