VERY IMPORTANT! If you are updating from an older version, please read the 1.1.0 article! I edited some scripts so things have to be triggered properly to update and not cause problems for you. If you are new to this mod, then you can follow the regular install instructions.
Firstly and most importantly: The design (theme, layout, mechanics, decoration) of this dungeon is excellent (especially for a one-modder project): same or better quality than dungeons of the base game! Good flow from area to area, a dungeon concept that makes sense, etc.. Huge props to the author. As the description starts out with, bandits are the main enemy type. However, there is one other type of monster off in a side area, and the end of the dungeon has a much more unique set of encounters. As an aside, I liked the effort to humanize the named bandit near the end, giving him thoughts, plans, and cleverness that are often lacking from Skyrim's enemy NPCs.
Please do note, however, that this is billed as Episode I of III, but almost five years from the last update no Episode II has followed. This is not itself a criticism - modding takes a TON of time, effort, and dedication and the realities of life easily get in the way - just something you should know and be okay with before downloading. The dungeon ends with a portal to what will/would be Episode II. (At least a shortcut back out of the dungeon is provided, in typical Skyrim style, so backtracking through the whole long dungeon isn't necessary.) Aside from that limitation, the only part that wasn't to my taste was the final enemy. It felt more like a player character than a boss enemy (note that this might be a HUGE POSITIVE to you, it just wasn't to me), though I'll avoid spoiling any more than that.
TL;DR great design and quite fun, as long as you're okay with the story arc being left unfinished.
Nice dungeon. I liked the variety, and the writing was well done. It was a tad too linear for my tastes, but that's Skyrim's dungeons in general. It fits in well with the rest of the game, to the point I didn't even realize I had found a mod dungeon and quest at first. My only complaint is just about how abrupt the current end is. The mod feels less like one episode of several and more like just a piece out of a larger mod that's unfinished. Some sort of small conclusion would have been nice, rather than just one big cliffhanger teasing another release.
Simply outstanding. I really don't have the words right now to do it justice without playing it down. All I can say is that this is expertly crafted and just perfection. I can't imagine how long you took to get some of the lighting effects just right. This mod is presented how a master chef lays out a five-course meal.
Endorsed, and kudos. I don't yet know if I'll be keeping this installed to see how it becomes "radiant" or just install and run then uninstall and reload the save when finished whenever I get bored. Probably some combination of both. Thank you for this.
I see you're still active. Is there anything you're working on that I should keep my eye out for or just playing the game?
Nice mod, where common elements of the game are remixed in a very unusual way - like the thermal pool in a grotto where bandits relax bathing. Much fantasy was poured in it, really a pity that was left largely unfinished.
Hi, nice dungeon, and promising plot, worthy of continuation, however I experienced many CTD when walking in the larger cavern with practicable wood-bridge. (Should use tcl to avoid it.)
