FOR USERS GETING ERROR CONVERTING, USUALLY CANCELING CONVERSION
So, I was dealing with this issue where the converter would not convert for the life of me, it would throw an error then cancel.
To fix this you need to download msvcr100.dll (There is a Windows 64 version & a Windows 32 Version)
I believe this program runs on x32 architecture so you will need to Download This File or manually go to www.dll-files.com & search for msvcr100.dll x32 version
1. Once Installed Go to the download location & extract it to a temporary location.
2. Inside the msvcr100.dll file you just downloaded you will find the msvcr100.dll copy this file inside C:\Windows\SysWOW64
P.S If it still does not work you can see what error it throws you by clicking on the xWMAEncode.exe located inside bin folder of the Skyrim audio directory file, if it throws a dll error, use the same site as the first file download, search it & add it into C:\Windows\SysWOW64 REMEMBER TO GRAB THE x32 ARCHITECTURE VERSION
System32= x64 SysWOW64= x32 Sound backwards? Idk ask Microsoft
Np, took me 6 hours to figure out what in the world was wrong with it, glad you got it running, so it turns out its just a windows 11 problem, not sure about windows 10 but it looks like microsoft just didnt include these stock in there newer os systems thinking they wouldnt need it, this application came out 3 years before windows 10 so it makes sense
Sry for being so late to reply to this, you can also try the previous steps but with using this mod instead, there just very outdated Yakitori Audio Converter - Convert
this file is from Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable you need the x86 version. Do not download anything from untrusted website that are not microsoft.
Hmmm, I installed this redistributable and msvcr100.dll and msvcr120.dll are both present in C:\Windows\SysWOW64, but I am still getting conversion errors.
I downloaded the main file and opened the .exe and got "INI file not found, using base conversion settings"
I can see the INI file, it is there.
I even downloaded the x64 version and replaced the main file .exe with it, same response.
And then after trying to convert a .xwm file anyway, it says "One of the converter files are missing. The proper location is "main_folder\bin". Conversion cancelled!"
Instructions are to install the main mod file manually. If that does not work, try the x64 file. HOWEVER, you still need the main file! Just replace the .exe from the first file with it. Also can try renaming files to a shorter file name such as "1" or "2" prior to conversion. However, If you get an error such as below..
"One of the converter files are missing. The proper location is "main_folder\bin". Conversion cancelled!"
This is because you only downloaded the x64 version, you still need the main file!
Thanks for this comment. This worked perfectly for me. Program works as advertised, no issues. Did NOT delete all my desktop files as some other reported -- not sure how that happened, weird. Used it to mod main menu music on FO4. Flawless. Thank-you! :)
honestly this thing does the job but it's kind of crappy for current standards some people have huge collections of music and the fact that you did not program in a queue means that every one of them will try to fire off at once and it will crash if the list is big enough 3/5, you could get 5 if you gave it a little spitshine
If the name of your music has any special characters you will get an error, that's what I've experienced everytime I try convert something with Japanese characters or whatever in the name
