    Version 1_3 Now Live

    Moved Plaques and Containers Around
More Than a Dozen New Bookshelves
    Overhauled Lounge/Fireplace Area
    Removed Some Old Containers
    Overhauled Blacksmith Area
    Overhauled Alchemy Lab
    5 New Weapon Racks
    Removed One Coffin

If you are updating from an older version you'll need to follow these steps. (Not necessary for 1.3 to 1.3.1)

    1. Gather all your things from all the containers and leave the home.
    2. Make a new save and exit.
    3. Uninstall the old version and restart skyrim and load the save from step 2.
    4. Make a new save and exit.
    5. Install new version and load the save from step 4.

After reading some comments this may be helpful:

    > if you cannot find the key to the house, it is NOT in the skeleton at the road with the knapsack under it- it is inside the skeleton closest to the door. if you still cannot find it you can console command one in (Help "Stalker's Refuge Key" or something to that nature).

    > If you cannot recruit Vein/Do not want to do the redwater den quest there is this guide on how to get a death hound without it, although you will need EFF or some other follower tweaker that allows force recruiting. You could also attempt an "AddtoFaction" command but I could not get one to work.

              >> Alternatively, you can use the command "Completequest DLC1VampireBaseIntro" to complete "The Bloodstone Chalice" and unlock the Death hound follower ability. You must also be level 5 to recruit a Death hound. THIS METHOD WITH BREAK THE DAWNGUARD/VOLKIHAR QUESTLINE!! ONLY DO THIS IF YOU DO NOT PLAN TO COMPLETE THAT QUESTLINE FOR YOUR PLAYTHROUGH!!!!!!

    > If you would Like Vein to act like a normal dog, click on him and type "Sexchange". this allows him to bark, sit, lay, etc.

    > If there are items missing/items you need but is not there (Shrines, Wood chopping block, chairs, etc) you can use Jaxon's Positioner to copy the object you want from a different location, take it, then place it anywhere you want to in Stalkers Refuge. You can also use the "Player.placeatme" command however I do not recommend this because complicated items (Weapon racks, chopping blocks, etc) get bugged this way and items are stupidly hard to place as the spawn where/near wherever you are standing. I highly, HIGHLY recommend Jaxon's positioner.

              >> As well as placing objects, you can remove objects if they get in the way (for example, the random beds, or furniture you constantly run into. I personally removed a door to the dungeon to make the house more "Open") Using Jaxon's Positioner as well.

    > If you do not like Vein's name, Re-name him with Jaxon's Renamer.

    > If you are apart of Dawnguard, and Vein attacks you, Click on him, type "Setessential <baseID> 0" [Enter] then "Kill". To find his BaseID, type "Help Vein" or, if using MFGConsole (Highly recommend), you can click on him and look to the right-hand side of the console window, under his RefID.

              >> Alternatively, if this does not work/you cannot find the BaseID, open console, click on him, them type "Disable". I would not recommend using "MarkForDelete" on him if you want to enable him later. If you want to enable him later, write down his refID (The number you see at the top of the console when clicking on him) and when you want to re-enable him, type "Prid <ID>" Then "Enable".

              >> If you already "MarkForDelete"ed him, you can re-spawn him by typing "Help Vein", followed by ?"Player.Placeatme <ID> 1" (Do this INSIDE Stalker's Refuge as the place you spawn him will be his home point, meaning if you spawn him at Whiterun, he will return to Whiterun once dismissed). If you do not see him, type "Prid <ID>", "Enable", then try again.

    > If you want a different dog instead of a death hound (For non Vampires) you can use the same "Player.Placeatme" command to try to spawn one, as well as all the necceccary "AddToFaction" Commands. I have not tested this so I cannot give much help for this method.

              >> Alternatively, you can use My Home is Your Home, Useful Dogs, or any other follower manager mod to tell any dog (Husky, Meeko, a Stray, whatever) to live inside Shelter's Refuge.

    > If you are having lighting issues (Blinking Lights) Try Disabling ENB's, use Realistic Lighting Overhaul, or if those don't work, use Jaxon's Positioner, on the MCM, go to "Advanced", toggle "Make lights visible and editable" Or something like that, and look around for Chaurus eggs. Delete the blinking lights. Copy working lights and move them to the spot of the blinking light.

              >> Alternatively, use the console command to "Disable" broken lights and "Player.Placeatme" working lights (You can find the ID's by clicking on working lights) You can get these working lights from inside Shelter Refuge (IF any) or from any other location in skyrim, as long as you have the RefID (If using Jaxon's positioner to take the lights, use the"Take Object" hotkey). Always save your game before messing with lights!!! once it is changed there really is not any fixing with without loading a save.

    > For anyone who cannot find a coffin- It is right next to the entrance door, tucked away in an alcove. if you do not like the Coffin's Location, you can use Jaxon's Positioner to move it, or place a copy elsewhere.

    > If the weapon racks do not work, you can Replace them with copies of working item racks from a different player home/Guard barracks, or even try the "Resurrect" command, or "Disable" then "Enable" is a way to "reset" it (have not tested this)

on a personal note- its ridiculous how many complaints there are in the comments about things that can so easily be changed yourself :/
and to the mod author- delightful home for my lonesome Bosmer vampire! just perfect, thank you for this mod, and wonderful work! :)

This is a nice vampire home, but I'm missing two important things, if you could add them it would be awesome.

    - Shrine of Molag Bal or a goblet for blood of the ancients buff.
    - Wood chopping block to gather firewood for crafting arrows.

I know this is an old comment and the account who commented it is closed but for anyone else who needs these- use Jaxons Positioner, find a shrine of molag bal (markarth house) and/or chopping block (most towns) and select the object, copy it, take it, and place it at the modded house.

I have a big problem with this home. In my case the entrance is hidden inside the mountain beneath the rocks and by that completely inaccessible. Im not sure, but it looks like some sort of mod conflict with Rigmor of Bruma. Im not sure is this the real reason, but after disabling rigmor the home is where it should be.

this mod is really cool!!! i love how its tucked away, and very nice aesthetically. loving the dungeon uwu

a few criticisms tho? ignore me if you're not taking any. sorry, i don't mean to be rude.
-there's lots of beds around in odd places?
-not sure if its a lighting mod i have that's not playing nice, but there's light flickers in a lot of places (particularly in the dungeon and bedroom)
-vein kinda just stands there in front of the door like a lump
-none of the weapon racks are usable? :c

and a little bug, maybe? the skeleton in front of the entrance didn't have the key on it, and it wasn't in the knapsack either. i had to use console commands to add it to myself.

First thanks for very neat home, always like your work. Second, to anyone else who uses AFT, this mod needs patching for it, if not AFT won't work properly. Its as easy as opening it in TESEdit and moving the records.

I can confirm that Vein will be hostile if you're a member of the Dawnguard. The only problem is that this dog is essential... yay.

I love this house! One small issue though, some of the interior lights (chandeliers mainly) blink on and off as my character moves about, and with Rudy ENB they are super duper bright to the point where it's kinda hard to look at them. Otherwise this is a really cool home and my vampire thanks you!

I had the same "light on", "light off" issue with just the default light settings.
