I believe this mod adds spaces in front of the menu names EVERYTIME you change the ordering. So every time you change the ordering, the menu names get longer. I wonder if there is an easy way to remove all those spaces from the names without uninstalling and reinstalling every single mod to revert back.

EDIT Grimy Utilities (which has an MCM renamer feature)? can be used to remove the spaces added by MCM Custom Order. You can also use Grimy Utilities to manually rename the entries to order them in a way that you have much more control of.

Is this compatible with the special edition?

It's an SKSE plugin, so it won't work unless rebuilt for SE SKSE

SKSE64 usually handles SKSE with no issues

It seems that some mods disappear when moved.
    SLEN or SOS for e.g.
The mods still work, its just that you cant see them.

Some MCM menus do things a little differently. I had to add some special logic for menus that read from translation files for multiple languages. It is possible that might be the case with these. What mods are SLEN and SOS so I can see what they are doing?

If i am correct, SLEN should be Eager NPCs and SOS is Schlongs of Skyrim from website which must not be named.
But for me Better Vampires dissapeared(in both 1.0 and 1.1, strangely enough SOS is still visible for me).

Here are some more that I noticed are missing

      Dynamic time scale - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10594/?
      Immersive Citizens - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65013/?
Populated Skyrim HELL EDITION - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73315/?

Also if I could make a suggestion, could you add a reset option?

I just tried v1.1 and no change.
Also if you remove this mod the menues that are missing dont seem to come back (even after save cleaner remove)

This is a really weird problem. I installed Immersive Citizens and Dynamic Time Scale and the first time I tried changing the order I saw exactly what you described with menus missing. I then quit out of the game to look at my code to search for any possible flaws, but when I went back into the game to try it again nothing disappeared. I have tried exiting and starting the game multiple times and starting new characters but I have not been able to reproduce the problem.

I do believe you when you say this happened since I did see it once, but considering I can't make it happen again I don't know what to do about it. Skyrim is notorious for having all sorts of weird bugs and this might just be another one of them that happens at random. The only thing I can recommend is that you go back to a previous save and try again. I'll keep an eye out for this problem though and see if I can figure out what might be going on. So far you are the only person who has reported a problem so hopefully this is a very rare bug.

I just uploaded version 1.2 which adds a bunch of logging so if anyone sees this again they can post the log which will hopefully tell me what is going on.

Same here. SOS menu vanished. It's still working, I can still see it in the customizer from MCM Custom Order, but no longer in the Menu.
Reinstalling SOS didn't work. Back to old save I reckon. Endorsed anyway, coz I love the idea and how it is running so far.

If you haven't restarted your game yet, can you supply me with the contents of "My Games\Skyrim\SKSE\MCMCustomOrder.log" under your documents folder? It may be able to help me figure out the problem.

This also happened to me on a new game, so I was unable to go back to an older save.

I managed to fix it by disabling this and SkyUI itself, saving game, and then reloading game with SkyUI enabled again (to completely reset it - I have not turned custom order back on again yet).

From what I can see in the logs, everything was there, but SkyUI did not use them. My gut feeling is your use of spaces to order the menus may be putting the menu names over a max character limit. Unfortunately, this may require a change to SkyUI itself to resolve.

Maybe instead of allowing complete customization (and adding so many spaces), it may be better to have like 5 levels of mod importance instead? Another option might be to use "001 - ", "002 - ", etc instead of spaces? Just a thought...

I am using it out of Utopium‘s Utilities and I am here because I search for a solution for these problems. Spaces in front of names and most importantly missing menus! What can I do? There are no of these files in the SKSE folder...

Edit: I removed Utopium Utilities but the MCM remains, apart from U.U. being removed. It works in a new game but I must save this one! I can’t get into the game after deactivating SkyUI. :( Help!

How to reset the mod's setting to default? my MCM menu is fine, but the MCM Custom Order's list is all buggered up and i'd really like to reset it so i can organize it again.

There are 2 files in your Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE
      MCMCustomOrder.log
      MCMCustomOrder.log0
      deleting these resets to default

That was wrong sorry there's a files called MCMCustomOrder.txt that gets generated which goes to the same place or your overwrite folder for MO

Great idea but too bad this mod has issues with missing MCM entries and no apparent way to fix it. Even after removing this mod, running save game cleaner, Netimmerse Override cleaner and running "setstage SKI_ConfigManagerInstance 1" the mod entries are still missing and the visible mods are not in their original order. The only fix appears to be loading a previous save.

Just reporting that twice now the MCM for the NKY 3rd Person Camera mod has broken right after using this mod to change it's location on the list. Saving/restarting the game doesn't help to fix it.

the whole disappearing mods thing in the MCM Menu makes this mod completely worthless to download
