Consult the documentation. Read the FAQ (if there is one) and compatibility notes in the mod description, as well as the readme (Docs tab) and the bug list (for LE mods, the bug list is on the corresponding SSE page to reduce duplication).
Install the correct version. Make sure you download the LE version (/skyrim/) if you are using LE, and the SSE version (/skyrimspecialedition/) if you are using SSE. If the other version is available, the mod page contains a link to it. Not all mods are available for both versions.
Check for conflicts. Check if there is another mod loaded after this mod that may override it and revert its changes. Some mods come with loose files that end up in your data folder, override other mods regardless of what order they are in, and may stick around after you uninstall them.
Make sure you have the latest version. Please do not report bugs that are already fixed.
Empirically, the above is more likely than not to solve your issue. Keep in mind that this mod is used by thousands of players without major issues, so if "the mod doesn't work" or "the mod is completely broken", the issue would likely be on your end and not actually a bug with the mod.
Validated bug reports and feedback are welcome on the above subreddit.
Sorry, I know this was already brought up sometimes, but I can't seem to fix it. When my character becomes a vampire (lord) via dawnguard questline, it only gets the "Vampire Lord" Power, and nothing else. The mod's perk tree os there and the quests kick in normally, but I don't seem to be changing. No "vampire" in active effects, no new powers, no weaknesses, no racial buff (I'm a khajiit, I should get the one which makes people trip). I do use many mods, but any of them alters the race scripts. I've tried this with and without RaceCompatibility (when had it, it was before Sacrosanct in the load order), and in both cases tried speaking to Harkon being khajiit and vanilla vampire. I even disabled a mod that had "being vampire" as requisite to start it's own quest, but still no avail. Any idea of how to fix it? I use Vortex, if that makes any difference
You have another mod overriding the vampire scripts. Either an installed mod, or loose scripts in your scripts folder, which will override all mods installed and can be left behind by other mods after uninstallation. Alternatively, the scripts are fine but another mod loaded after Sacrosanct reverted the quests.
Racecompatibility is problematic, even with the patch, which seems to be bugged.
Hi Enai I had a question about one feature of the mod:
Vampiric Drain: Spell - Absorb 5 (Sated) to 20 (Blood Starved) points of Health per second from the target.
In your description you mention that the character weakens as their thirst increases (reverse progression). The mod stays true to that trend except for Vampiric Drain, which gets weaker when you feed like in vanilla. Would you consider reversing this so that it is more consistent with the rest of the mod, or do you firmly believe it should be this way?
Is it possible to turn off Moonlit Waters? Standing on bathhouse's water surface looks hilarious (I have Northern bathouses mod installed, plus baths in custom homes)
It is disabled below sated due to what started out as a bug but has become a feature as people keep complaining that Moonlit Waters exists. (After asking for waterwalking before the mod was released, of course.) If this ever gets updated, Moonlit Waters is being removed.
You could at least restore the waterbreathing below sated, an undead creature suddenly needing air when they are in their more dead then alive stage makes no sense at all.
Ok so this might be a bit over the top for this mod but i think it would be fun to add the drain(lethal) option when not blood starved to the sneek feed ability. I would give some more freedom with haveing vampirism. Just an idea
If you REALLY want to feed-drain your way through places, get the White Wolf perk and the Summon to Molag's Court ability. Add the Quiet Casting perk from Illusion for good measure, and you're good to go.
My char is not getting any vampire powers when she turns into one, and the vampires at Harkon's castle think I'm not a vampire? they only speak to me when I'm in vampire lord form. I've tried turning into a vampire using the potions of embrace and I see the message about me turning into a vampire, but nothing else happens.... I don't have the "vampire" ability in my active effects. I've already installed the "racecompatibility" mod with the sacrosanct option.
Since i installed the mod i seem to have a blue mist effect around my character at all times in all states. Has anyone else had this? is it possible to turn off? I've been able to figure out what effect might be causing it....
this used to be a great mod but the whole "wassail" thing completely ruins it for me when it starts draining my health, configuring it in the mod menu to doesnt make it stop either. uninstalled
The option in the MCM is for the attribute reduction after combat ends and which lasts until you feed next time, not the drain during combat.
There are many ways to deal with Wassail. For example, you could make sure to not get that low on health during combat for it to trigger. Or you could try to not fight while you aren't sated. You can also combat feed (once you have Blood Knight and are fighting an NPC from a playable race). Or you drink a Blood Potion; you should have plenty of them after getting Harvest Moon and White Wolf (even Harvest Moon alone can give you plenty).
It sure took some time convincing myself to play something else but the standard paladin.. but I'm so glad I did. This mod is amazing!! The depth it adds, the amount of fun but also difficulty. The amount of choices, customization. To quote Sinitar Gaming "Sacrosanct literally makes you play as a vampire and rewards you for it" ~ that's exactly my experience with Sacrosanct, no actually with all your mods Enai! The Skyrim community wouldn't be half of what it is without people like you :)

Thanks for playing! <3

Anyway, there is an MCM option to flip it around so it is strongest when sated.

Also if you can't manage to either stay above 25% health OR stay fed with the many ways this mod offers to feed, well, there you go.
