    >  When I use a hotkey (1-5) in my profile list window, it auto-selects a profile whose name begins with that hotkey!

I  never considered of  naming profiles with a number at the start and would have never come across this error personally. I will either add the option to toggle between numbers and function keys.

May I know how many profiles do you have?

    > Trouble report: MOPM CTD.

I will add error handling in next release. Never had that error as it normally access files that are not being accessed.

    > Oh, BTW, just as a note for people, that has nothing do do with this app, but has a lot to do with using MO profiles: Having lots of profiles kills MO performance!

You should consider having several installs of MO and sharing the mods directory between them using a hardlink. And if the profile order needs to be shared then share hardlink one profile.

    > And why are there only 5 of them?

I never considered more would be necessary, but I guess not. I thought 5 would be an overkill. I only have 4 active profiles, at most 5.

Next set of change requests (Boy, it's way more fun being the one *making* CRs than it ever was being the one who gets them):

    1. Any chance of making the window (and panels) re-sizable? I want a bigger log window.

    2. I love the 'copy profile order to' button. However, I have enough profiles that the drop-down menu for selecting one is problematic for me. Any chance of having some alternative way to select a target?

    3. May I suggest that using a hotkey in the profile list panel toggles membership in a group, rather than just setting it? Without thinking, that's how I automatically tried to remove a profile from a group, and when it didn't work, it took me a few seconds to realize that, oh yeah, I need to use 'delete'.

    4. RMB context menu on profiles, to do things like add/remove from a a group?

    5. OK, now I'm just getting greedy, but I figure it never hurts to ask - and this is turning into a nice little profile management tool. Any chance of having options to bring up an editor (preferably user-selected external, as I loves my Notepad++) on a profile's modlist? There are times when I want to do things like sort a sub-section of mod names, and the easiest way to do that is by directly editing a modlist.txt. And now, with this tool, I can create a new profile with every mod unselected (so every line starts with '-'), edit that, and have the load order change auto-propagate back to my main load order. It's just a tad inconvenient to navigate to the right profile in file explorer...

    6. Context menu command to backup /restore a mod's install order? And preferably, with numbered/dated backups, rather than just a single '.bak'?

I apologize for being greedy, but that's the price you pay for making users happy . Well done!

    1) Maybe. I wanted to avoid that because I just wanted something quick and simple.

    2) That would be annoying if you have lots of profiles. Problem I need to be able to fit this in all size of screens. I am thinking the smallest is 1024x786 or something around that range. I will try and find a fix for it. Maybe bring up another window.

    3) Truth I prefer that del hotkey rather than toggle. You really cannot please everyone with this.

    4) Currently I use a treeview listing, in the next release I will change it to listview and allow multi-selection and context menu.

    5) Double clicking on the Mod Organizer path on pane [1] opens the profile directory. You can just then open the modlist.txt file from Windows Explorer. Adding a rather unique request will make the interface (more) cluttered.

    6) There is a directory called "Backup Profiles" that has dated backups of all profiles. It backs everything up at the start. I rather avoid the code as it is a lot of fancy work for something that can be done easily done by copy and paste through Windows Explorer an

Trouble report: MOPM CTD. Action: in MO, I edited the name of a mod, while MOPM was running.I got a CTD popup with this:

    ************** Exception Text **************
System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'd:\Skyrim MO\profiles\Build GZLD_PATCHES_MERGED\modlist.txt' because it is being used by another process.
    at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)

I have no idea what app may be locking modlist.txt in my 'Build GZLD_PATCHES_MERGED' profile. It's not the profile I'm using, and I haven't touched it in days. In fact, MOPM said it successfully updated it after another change just a few minutes earlier. However, whatever the reason, I'd prefer MOPM to log an error and stumble on, rather than crashing.

This is a great idea! I just downloaded and installed it, and it works as advertised, which has been a great help, I assure you. (I have lots of profiles). However, in order for it to be fully usable to me, I'd like to make some requests for future versions:

    1. Please add an option to only monitor specific profiles, and optionally not auto-monitor newly added profiles.Sometimes, I create a new profile just for testing or merging, and do not want changes to that profile to auto-propagate until I'm done experimenting.

    2. Please please please add options to exclude some profiles from being updated. For example, I like maintaining pristine STEP and SRLE load orders, which I do not ever want changed.

    3. In an optimal world, this app would have 'profile sets', such that changes made to a profile would only propagate to other profiles in the same set. Thus, I could have a 'STEP profiles'' set, a 'SRLE profiles' set, a 'Working' set, an 'Enderal' set, and an 'experimental' set, all of which would be independent.

    4. Please add an option to copy one profile's load order to another's, or preferably several at the same time. In fact, if this was the ONLY change you made, it would be sufficient to meet my needs. Auto-updating is nice, but what I really need is a simple 'copy load order' tool, since it's pretty much impossible to do manually.

    5. Please add an option to disable/re-enable the auto-update feature, without me having to actually close the app and restart it.

    6. Question - if I edit a modlist.txt outside of MO, will this app catch the update and auto-update the other profiles? I assume so, and that would be great, but I'd just like it made clear.

If you could do those things, this would be a total-win app for me!

      Have you tried http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71625/
It may have the features you desire.

      1) I never tested this. A new profile would cause issues the first time it is created.

      2) Fair enough. If I do not do option one I will do a settings file that you have to edit and type in profile you which to exclude.

      3) That requires a lot of work and a fancy interface. I am not even sure how that will look like.

      4) You can do this by just copying the plugins.txt file. It's pretty easy thing to do. I can add a button to open profile folder and you can manually copy the desired plugin.

      5) OK

      6) Yes it will

Yay!! Thank you!! Proof that prayers *can* sometimes be answered!

RE: manually copying plugins.txt: sorry, I misspoke when I said 'load order'; I meant 'install order'.Load orders are easy to copy manually, of course. But handling all the leading + and - signs in a modlist.txt? No way to do that manually, which is of course the whole point of this app.

Again, thank you for such quick responsiveness!

Ok, just started using it, and I have a problem: When I use a hotkey (1-5) in my profile list window, it auto-selects a profile whose name begins with that hotkey! That is, if I use the hotkey '1', and I have a profile whose name starts with '1' (which I do), it will select that profile, rather that the one whose name the mouse is actually selecting.

Given that I kinda like the auto-search when I enter a character into the plugin list pane, may I suggest changing the hotkeys to be function keys rather than digits?

And why are there only 5 of them?

Oh, BTW, just as a note for people, that has nothing do do with this app, but has a lot to do with using MO profiles: Having lots of profiles kills MO performance!

Historically, I've created tons of profiles, such as a new one every time I do a merge, which is why I need an app like this. However, I've also suffered from MO taking a long time to update every time I install, delete, or change the name of a mod.

It wasn't until this app came out that I realized that MO has to update *every* profile every time I add/remove/rename *any* mod.And it's not very efficient in doing so, apparently (at least, not when you have over 6000 mods installed, as I do). So, the more profiles you have lying around, the slower MO gets.

So, my rule of thumb is now to keep as *few* profiles as possible. If, like me, you create a temp profile to do things like merging or testing, be sure to delete it as soon as you're done using it. Trust me, the MO performance gain will more than make up for any inconvenience.

Awesome idea, but could it be made to NOT work in background and instead be activated from inside MO (I think MO supports plugins)?

I am not sure how you would access the interface and it is much easier to write it as a separate app. It can also work on any version of MO (1 & 2). Also I've never written a plugin before.

Thanks for the link. It is written in C# and well it's just easier to write it up as a separate app. Version 2 is out and it fixes a major bug and adds profile grouping and better interface.
