She… has seen things.
Things you would never believe…
Once upon a time, Alice was born an orphan. She was raised by at an orphanage in Cyrodiil.
The woman that runs the place was very harsh on the children there. Especially Alice.
The woman treated Alice as a crazy girl. “Too much fantasy, you have. Quit lying!”
One day, Alice escaped the orphanage. Since then, she has lived at the streets.
Poor girl, she went from city to city. At each city she prayed for money or food. She tried to sneak into the chapel. But even the eight divines could not help her.
A few years later, Alice found herself in the forrest. Searching for people. Or maybe she could find a Khajiit caravan that might help her.
But suddenly she saw a white, big rabbit sprinting trough the bushes. Alice decided to follow the little animal. Somehow she thought that the rabbit would bring her to a better place….
Out of nowhere, Alice found a strange kind of statue.
It looked like three heads. One looked sad and the other angry. The middle one was happy.
Suddenly a portal opened inside of the middle face. The rabbit jumped in.
Alice followed the rabbit and came into a strange realm. A land filled with giant mushroom-like trees. It was very colourful.
Alice travelled through the land she just discovered. There were actual people in here that lived in small villages. There was something odd about the tough.
She came eventually at the big gates. Some villagers told Alice that there is a way further through the gates of Mania and Dementia. But she had to face the Gatekeeper first.
When Alice came near the gates, she saw the Gatekeeper. It was big, he had no face and was covered with chains, spikes and sharp weapons.
Alice did not want to fight the thing, but she had no choice. She looked around for a weapon. There were corpses everywhere, some of them contained a weapon. But most of them were too heavy for Alice. Except for one. One corpse had a big knife in his back. Probably stabbed by someone…
Alice took the knife and held it behind her back. She walked to the Gatekeeper and started speaking to him. “Please, Gatekeeper, will you let me through? I promise I will not hurt you!”
The Gatekeeper looked at Alice… It took him some time to think about it, but then he reached out his arm. He gave Alice a key to Dementia.
The following days, Alice was travelling through Dementia. Seen many strange creatures. She even had to kill some swamp monsters with her knife!
Eventually she came at the gate of a big city. She entered it and walked through the streets.
She met with different people. Some were likable, and some were mean. But at least she found a place to stay at the inn. Alice found out that the city was called New Sheoth. “So this is the Shivering Ilses then… home of Sheogorath?” She asked the innkeeper. “Yes, now pay for the room or get out!”
Alice had some coin and gave it to the innkeeper. It was enough for one night. But she needs more money. Maybe if she helped Sheogorath at the court, he would give her a place to stay. Is was dangerous tough, he is the Daedric Prince of Madness afterall.
The next morning Alice sneaked into the palace of Sheogorath. It was pretty hard: guards were everywhere.
But she managed to sneak past the guards by hiding behind a big dress of a noblewoman.
Inside the palace she found the throneroom.
“So, who is this mortal?” Said a powerful voice. Alice looked behind her.
A strange old man with colourful clothes and a stick stood before her.
“I… I am Alice”
“What is an Alice? A new kind of mer? An orc? No wait…. Ah! You are an Imperial! I heard you people like cheese. Do you like cheese? If not, I will put you on fire and you will die a horrible death…”
Alice was shocked, but then she said “Ofcourse, I love cheese!” This was not lie, she really liked cheese.
“Good, now tell me what you are doing here.”
Alice told Sheogorath her whole life story. She was a bit scared, maybe it would bore him.
But strangely it did not.
It turned out that Sheogorath wanted Alice to come to the palace. The Gatekeeper did not attack Alice because Sheogorath did not want it to.
From that day, Alice helped Sheogorath with task, like: helping out a village in Mania. Or Kill the monster at the lake… Alice got a lot of experience at the Shivering Isles. Her skill with the dagger was amazing.
After a year, Sheogorath went on vacation. “I am going to meet up with an old friend” He said. And he disappeared. Alice wanted to go back to Tamriel for a while.
So she travelled back to the portal and told Haskill that she would be back soon.
Back in Tamriel, Alice went on traveling. Eventually she got in Skyrim, where she discovered new places. She heard about what was going on there. A Civil War and Dragons that came back!
So she had to watch out. But when she travelled near Rorikstead, Alice found an old lady there. She was gathering ingredients. “My dear, can you help me with gathering stools for me? I only need the red ones for the soup.” Alice did help the lady and so she also helped her bringing the ingredients back to her house. It was a small house, and it looked abandoned.
The Lady looked at Alice and said “Let me show you something…” She took Alice to the front door. Alice looked around. There were Skeevers everywhere! “Why are there Skeevers here?”
The old lady laughed. “They are my friends. They won’t hurt you, my dear. Unless you planned to escape…”
Escape?
“You are Alice, from the orphanage!” She shouted. “How dare you to escape from me! Thanks to you I lost my life! People accused me for murder!
You will never see the sun again. NEVER!” the old lady turned out the be the same lady from the orphanage. She paralyzed Alice with a spell and locked her up in the house.
From that day, Alice was trapped in that house. The Skeevers watched over her, so she could not escape.
Inside, there was a dead man. She was not sure who he was.
Once a day, the old lady would come in the house to feed the Skeevers and leave a little bit of food for Alice.
Alice is waiting for you… she needs your help!
