So, to be absolutely certain: downloading this without having the Crash Fixes thing on will have no detrimental effect on my game?

you should as some people Say "RTFM" but i will tell you kindly, Read The "Readme" Included, also make sure to read what "Vanguarde2017" written, you know they say "90% of Skyrim Problems Can Be Solved By Reading" so do that my friend :)

Create an empty text file named "CrashFixPlugin_Preload" in the skse/plugins folder.

Same problem as Sanismar. And for the record... I RTFM repeatedly, as the instructions are extremely simple. Hard to mess up. Put the 'wrapper' .dll in the Skyrim folder (not Data), place the crashfix plugin in the /data/skse/plugins folder. Turn the various zeros to ones and done. Launch game. Message: Game has already initialized blah blah ... check to make sure what you have checked repeatedly a dozen times has indeed been done correctly. (It has been done correctly). Tried setting the SKSE.exe with -forcesteamloader. Didn't work/help/change anything. Tried Vanguards' .ini files and instructions as recommended. Nothing. System specs (relevant) Win10, DX12, RAM 16GB, Nvidia T1050i, Skyrim LE.

Only remaining questions (which I tried to ascertain for myself via this posts description page) is that this is a fix for 'oldRym', not SE, yes?

Might be it's time I check to make sure all of my favorite mods have been upgraded/ported to SE and try that. This is most definitely a MOD that is causing the problem (unable to enter Solitude. Period. Had problems with Whiterun as well, but it is now intermittent. Seems if I play elsewhere for a while, I can then enter Whiterun. Not solitude.).

If anyone has any new insights, that would be fantastic. Otherwise, thanks to all for your efforts and see you ... 'In the 'Verse' ... err... Rym!' ...

    NOT MINE, FROM
    DonProtein

    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/76373

    Install Crash Fixes.
The best and most up-to-date mod to prevent almost all of game engine crashes! It's light-weight, one-click to install (using mod manager) and...it just works. No-no, it works for real. You'll notice faster loading and zero or almost zero crashes. Also it replaces SSME/SKSE memory patch, Safety Load and work much better and more easy to configure. YOU SHOULD NOT USE CRASH FIXES MEMORY ALLOCATION TOGETHER WITH SSME/SKSE/SAFETY LOAD MEMORY PATCHES AND/OR THEIR .INI SETTINGS. DELETE THEM. DON'T USE THEM. USE CRASH FIXES MEMORY ALLOCATION ONLY. I'm not supporting those who will somehow have both installed. After you installed it via mod manager, do the next:
    1) Install THIS ONE. Download, unzip and place D3DX9_42 file to your Skyrim folder (where your TESV.exe is, not in the /data folder).
    2) Go to /data/SKSE/plugins/CrashFixPlugin.ini and open it with any text redactor (notepad for example).
    3) Find and set UseOSAllocators to 1 (UseOSAllocators=1)
    4) Find and set CustomMemoryBlock to 1 (CustomMemoryBlock=1)
    5) Find and set MemoryInfoConsole to 1 (MemoryInfoConsole=1)
The next two steps you will need to repeat several times during the modding process. Please don't forget about this.
    6) Launch Skyrim, fast travel to some populated/fps heavy place and open console with "~" button.
    7) Look on maximum memory block load. There will be a lot of messages like "blah-blah-blah maximum block load XX %". If the maximum value is 90% or higher - exit game and find CustomMemoryBlockTotalSizeMb value in CrashFixPlugin.ini. Set it a bit higher (for example, if it was 110, set it to 120), save the .ini file changes, launch Skyrim and check memory block load again. Do this until maximum load won't be higher that 85-90% (check this in populated towns or combat).

    1. How can I use this with ssme? They both have the same .dll so I am unsure. Thanks.
