      You can just try manually installing the file, extract it then put it where the game's directory is located.

      @GoatBoy11

      To install it, you need to put d3dx9_42.dll in Skyrim's root directory (where TESV.exe is).

      Doesn't work on my end. It just doesn't load anything when running SKSE through MO2.

    Description page needs an update: there are at least two mods that require this now, the newer one being PrivateProfileRedirector LE - Faster game start (INI file cacher) by Kerber100.

      Only ones that say they specifically require it, otherwise it does nothing.

      Am assuming you are using the Crash Fixes v12, you are looking to the incorrect page for a solution.
      If you head over to the Crash Fixes v12 page " https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725 "..., At the Description Tab, there is a sub section called "How to use the memory allocator patch?" with solutions you can try to fix the error.

    Probably too old to get any help here but I keep getting a Crash Fix error message that says: Error:"UseOSAllocators" option could not be applied because the game has already initialized! Either disable that option or follow these steps:
    Then it goes into the steps.
    Tells you to install the SKSE preloader. But I've done it.

    Do you have to do something with MO2 to get it to recognize the files? I can see them in the Skyrim base directory.

      Sounds like something interfering with it loading. That would most likely be ENB, which has lines in its configs for "co-loading" other code-injection DLLs from the Skyrim folder.

      But see also InfamousNate's post below about Windows and Steam updates causing an easily fixed Registry error.

      I'm having the same issue.
      It's not the ENB because i removed it to test this theory. Also, where is the skyrim.ini file??

      Thanks to another modder (I don't remember the name) I know how to fix this :3 First, go into your skyrim data folder, than the skse folder. inside there will be a plugin folder. Go into that and create a text document. Name said document "CrashFixPlugin_preload.txt" (NO commas + Don't write anything in it) and you should be gucci from there. Hope I helped

      No. This is 32-bit code. SE and SKSE for SE are 64-bit applications. You can't inject x86 32-bit code into x64 64-bit code. But the author provided the source code, so presumably this could be compiled (possibly with some minimal adaptation changes) for x64, if this hasn't already been done.
