A bug-fix which properly applies these bows with the proper speed increase without affecting the arrow travel distance- and curve.

Zephyr and Auriel's bow fire faster than normal bows. However, the way Bethesda implemented these speed increases, the distance and curve of the fired arrows were affected. Zephyr fired lower than a normal dwarven bow.

The Bound bow fires faster than a Daedric bow, but not as far.

This mod aims to correct all that. The weapons fire faster in a similar way to how the 'Quick Shot' perk works and retains the arrow distance of their bow's 'normal' equivalent.

Zephyr
The weapon's description informs that it fires 30% faster than a normal (read: Dwarven) bow. However, Bethesda actually increased the weapon speed stat with a factor of 1/3 compared to a Dwarven bow.
This mod also corrects that and changes the weapon's description to match the actual boost factor of 1/3 in addition to keeping the arrow travel distance of a Dwarven bow.

Auriel's bow
It now fires arrows at the same distance/curve as the other bow of the same weight. Which is the Nordic bow. Which also happens to have the same arrow distance/curve as the Elven bow. Auriel's bow is meant to be a supreme Elven bow. So this all fits nicely.
This mod gives the bow the same firing speed as it has in the vanilla game.

Bound bow
The Bound bow now has the same arrow travel distance/curve as the Daedric bow and fires at the same fast speed as in the vanilla game. This makes it an extremely viable weapon. I don't consider it overpowered, because the bow can't be improved via smithing like the other bows.

All the fixes from the Unofficial Skyrim Patch project have been forwarded.

I have added optional files with different attributes for those who's rather have those. You can request more speed options or edit the values with TES5Edit by yourself if you know how to use it.


Feedback is always welcome.

I'd like your opinion's on these matters:
  • Should Auriel's bow just get a 30% (...or 33%) speed increase compared to the Elven bow? As of right now, and in the vanilla game, it doesn't seem that it's meant to have some 'fixed' speed increase compared to the Elven bow.
  • Should Auriel's bow's speed match Zephyr's, whatever the case for the above issue is?
  • Should I do something about the Drainspell bow?

I've uploaded the Bound bow fix as a separate file. This, because that fix could be considered subjective by some.
