For those who want to know how to determine the source of crashes from unknown exception addresses:
I strongly suggest you to read this guide by Overlord69.

Too many file, what I need !? :

All in one pack (main download):

This pack contains all files you can found in optional section, If you follo my guide step by step, you've got all you what you want inside :

My cleaned and optimized INI in fourth version : Low, Medium, High, Ultra
    Nvidia inspector profile
    Texture optimizer's INI
    SKSE's INI
Crash fixes INI for last official version (not for beta, too many update)

    Optional File :
Contain same file as above, useful if you need to update your already optimized file or if you just need to compare with yours.

Take a look to the changelog:
I update my file's version number accordingly to my guide's one, if I change something in my file, it will be specified in my changelog.

Pro-Tip : You can see file content by clicking on the magnifier icon.

Before choosing an ENB, go here and check your rig, ENB needs a configuration equivalent or superior than recommended requirements.
So if you can't reach it, you need to use only ENBOOST or a very light one.

List of preset that works out-of-box with this guide :
Natural Lighting Vivid Atmospherics by Megaloblast and Kojak747, very nice and performance friendly.
A Bleak Vivid Weather Enb, Light and really good one if you like dark atmosphere vibe.
SkySoul ENB Enhanced is amazing, I suggest you to test it, it works very well with vivid weather or purity (it's a high end ENB with heavy effect, check your configuration before)
    ViVid Weather ENB
    ViVidian ENB
    Charlotte ENB
Phinix Natural ENB (Set timer resolution may lead to CTD with this one)
    The Baltic States ENBs
    DarkLight ENB
All Mobiusbelmont's presets are very good and well balanced. Try it too
Fusion ENB Preset by DarkShenron, it is an ENB preset tweaked to work with SKGE with different performance flavors.
Suki's Preset SKGE-ENB-NLVA by TheForkOnTheLeft, very beautiful one tweaked to be use with NVLA.

If you follow my guide, you can use these preset "as-is", you just need to keep your "well configured" enblocal.ini instead of the one includes in the preset, and take care about injector like SMAA or Sweetfx.

    I use Tetrachromatic ENB.
(Set timer resolution may lead to CTD with this one for some random users, thanks to ff7legend for feedback)
A really nice fantasy preset which change entire game feelings !! Give it a try !

If you have feedback about an another preset, let me know.

For Reference this guide was tested on :

    CPU: Intel Core I7 3770K @4.5
    RAM: 24 Go
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 ti 11Go
SKyrim on SSD (Samsung EVO Pro)
Skyrim is in Fullscreen Borderless windows mode with a resolution of 3440 x 1440 (G-Sync)
    Windows 7 Pro 64 bits
    Standard Drivers from NVIDIA 378.66

My previous RIG include two 970 GTX, I did test with and without SLI and i conclude that performance gain not worth problems induced by the use of SLI configuration with skyrim's engine.

My current Modlist, I merged a lot of mods, built my own compatibility patches and occasionally fix some other stuffs, so you can't use it as is, but this modlist is the main reason which retains me on classic Skyrim, too many masterpieces have not been updated yet.

I think feedback is very important, don't hesitate to post yours or your question, if i can answer i do it, and i add it to my guide.

PS: If you think this guide is usefull, don't forget to endorse it

My good old computer melted down with all my previous works (I know I suggest to do backup, and i didn't make one).
My new computer is not compatible with Windows 7 so I switched to Windows 10 :'( .
As i already said in comments, Skyrim SSE is enough mature now to be modded properly.
So i will certainly update this guide if important things pop but I doubt because most of the tools used here are not updated anymore and doesn't need it.

Everything is still true and will be certainly true for ever ^^.
As i'm still active (more on SSE side) I keep an eye on it. If one day I stop visiting Nexus I will put a notice on the guide page !

    Good game all

If you need help, be patient !

    Have fun !

    Hello to all,

After many years of despair and hope, our adoption process has finally come to a successful conclusion. Recently, I am the father of a little boy named Ozymendias (or "Little Alduin"). He arrived at 3 months in our lives and he will be 1 year old on October 2nd of this year.

We wish to offer him a play area. Each one of your participation will make it come out of the ground and will add an accessory, a swing, a slide, a sandbox...
A lasting gift that will create joyful memories and fill our garden with the laughter of children, so long awaited for so many years.

I never wanted to monetize my mods, it's a passion that I share freely with others but that it might be a nice occasion for people who want to support me to participate and help us :)

So if you're interested, it's this way

    Thank you so much :)

Dear Talos, this is literally my (Skyrim LE) Lifesaver! Thank You from the bottom of my heart. Its a thorough well explained guide, so got evrything setup and working as by Your recommenadtions. Luckily I m still on an i7-3770k, so that saved me some worries to. But seriously, thank You, it runs a whole lot smoother and stable now, 900+ mods on Ultra.

Doesn't come close to helping me primarily because I am neither a mod creator or a programmer, I have installed all the suggested material but can't find any of the items you say to remove or change and I worry that if I change the wrong thing I will have to scrap skyrim and reinstall it as I have done so many times, I started reading through the posts and nothing even close to what I am seeing at my end, in your directions you say change UseOSAllocators  to 1 but all I have is this located in CrashFixPlugins.ini and copied word for word...
"; Info: Overwrite array allocator directly when UseOSAllocators is set to 1. Don't understand the code enough yet to
;       say if it's safe or not. At this point it's just here for testing."

I don't use MO and I can't find to remove SInvalidationFile=ArchiveInvalidation.txt and several searches produced no results and I have been looking at this for a couple hours now and just to frustrated to care, I won't get a response and this is just too complicated for me, thanks for your effort but this is no help to me

    Hi Sthaagg,

Is it possible that installing MO2 to handle a different game (in my case, FO4, as portable) completely bricks MO1? I ask because I had a perfectly stable Oldrim installation for a long time (with a bit of jury rigging courtesy of advice from such as yourself). Then I got interested in FO4 and had to install an instance of MO2 to handle that game. installed FOSE and a bunch of popular mods following the most recommended guide, etc. etc. Now FO4 is not nearly as great as Skyrim and after a year I try to kick up the game I left behind, from the untouched MO1 installation. Lo and behold, it's bricked.

Specifically, MO1 does show me the left and right panes as they were, all mods and esps sorted - other tabs such as archive in working order too, but when I fire up Skyrim, that's not what I get. First, something as absurdly nondemanding as the Main Menu Spinning mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/7801?tab=posts isn't loaded - so its .nif and .dds don't hook in. I see that poor Sofia still exists (the .esp, I presume) but she loads with partially invisible armour and the boot meshes visible but blue from a missing texture, so it's safe to say that something goes wrong with building the virtual archive.
Before that point though, I get a ton of errors from e.g. SkyUI telling me that the SKSE scripts failed to fire/be loaded. DynDolod esp isn't recognised (SKSE issue), and some other mods complain about the same thing. Since all SKSE files were originally installed in the Skyrim folder itself, I did go  and re-install it with this time its scripts as an archive in MO left pane. Completely failed to accomplish anything, though.

Have you heard of something like this happening before or an idea what might have caused it / how to fix it? I haven't changed anything else in the wider PC itself, still running win7 on the same hardware and Avira as antivir. I haven't migrated my skyrim install to MO2 because I'm afraid some duct tape will come loose and cause deeper issues costing weeks of troubleshooting, and as the modlist mostly predates MO2 and SSE it's not as if this seemed necessary, just taking up more esps I can't fit from the archive handling change.

    Cheers,
    Terti

I followed the steps and used your .ini's and it messed up my SKSE; it wouldn't even recognize SKSE or its plugins as active. Removing the .ini's and using my old ones allowed me to continue. However, I'm still facing the same problem (albeit not AS frequent, still pretty frequent though), and I know I shouldn't be.

    I'm using an i9-9700k
    RTX 2080 Super 8gb
    16 gb RAM
    SSD (don't know manufacturer)

I would think if I could have optimized my older computer a few years ago (GT 760 2gb, 16gb RAM), I should have no problem running the (roughly) same loadout on this machine. I really don't know what else to do.

I don't play to LE since a long time, but i can tell you that my skse ini can't mess your game, so if it doesn't work with it, you did something wrong.
The other ones needs some adaptation as explained in the guide.

Sorry i can't help you more, hope some happy users will be able to help you.

Hi Sthaagg thx for the guide.

But I want to ask you about setting up affinity for processor.
So I use Ryzen 2600 now (6 cores, 12 thread).
    I assume its binary : 010101010101
    is that right?

Then I enter it on the binary website you provided and it returned : Hexadecimal 555
Is that the correct way for my processors?
    Thanks

I'm trying to set up an affinity for my processor, an Intel® Core™ i7-6700K Processor with 4 cores and 8 threads

The binary is 01010101 with the hexadecimal coming out to be 55

      I copy:
      cmd.exe /c start "skse" /affinity 55 "E:\Steamfast\Steamapps\common\skse_loader.exe" -forcesteamloader

      and past it as:
      cmd.exe /c start "skse" /affinity 55 "E:\Steamapps\common\skse_loader.exe" -forcesteamloader

to a new shortcut but it crashes before almost immediately ToT

    Hello, I'd Like to ask
can I apply all this guide to Skyrim especial edition?

Also, Should I Use this: SSEEdit instead of TES5edit?

SSEEdit (Special Edition) and TES5Edit (Oldrim) are ran from the same executable; you can copy and paste it in the same folder and have both, if I you have both games installed like I currently do, the only reason being that sse is still unstable and frankly a pain in the ass because of all the bad ports with plugins still in form 43 that need saved in the ck and meshes leftover from oldrim that will mostly likely crash your game if not found, purged and/or converted.

I don't know if they've updated xedit to the latest version on nexus yet because I don't get it from there anymore; it's all going down on GitHub now and here's the link to the official download page:

I also would like to use this guide for the special edition. Which parts should I ignore? Which part should I follow ?
      Can I ignore
      - mods not related the special edition
      Can I follow
      - other changes made to *.ini config files (ie. skse or removal section of the tutorial, mainly section 2 and 3)
      Thank you :)

Have a question about Nvidia Inspector for SE. Do you know if there a way to cap frame limit to 59.8?

Reason I want to do this is that I found out that this is the exact frame rate limit for my monitor, even though they say 60 it is really 59.8.

I know I can cap in Skyrim ini's or enb but would prefer card level because that is where I do vsync.
