EDIT: I posted a new version of the mod. Exact changes are in the changelog. The main thing is an improvement to compatibility; check out the edited section below.

Introduction

Have you ever wished the Unrelenting Force shout wasn't so wimpy? Have you ever wanted to not just send bandits flying back 20 feet, but send them flying back miles? Have you every dreamed about a shout that propels people through the air so fast, when they hit a rock, they fly higher than the Dragonborn after a giant attack?

Well, congratulations, because you found Superfus. Prepare for ultimate chaos.

This mod has two parts:

  • It allows the player to directly modify the power of the Unrelenting Force shout, changing it from just giving a gentle push, to causing an effect not unlike the result of placing a stuffed teddy bear just behind the outlet of a jet turbine. In a wind tunnel. With an open roof, inside a category 5 hurricane. You get the picture.
  • It adds a new shout to the game that has the same kind of effect as the Unrelenting force shout, with several big advantages.

Part 1: Building a Better Unrelenting Force

The mod configuration menu allows direct control of the magnitude of the Unrelenting Force shout. In vanilla Skyrim, the magnitude of the Unrelenting Force effect is 15. Superfus allows this magnitude to be increased to a maximum of 500,000.

Part 2: Building a Better Shout

In the interest of preserving the original shout, Superfus doesn't modify any other values for Unrelenting Force. Instead, it adds a new shout (called Superfus, obviously) that is superior in every way, and allows some important customization. Here are the features:

  • Damage Control: By default, Superfus does no damage. This means you can safely use it in the middle of Whiterun without turning the entire city against you. Have fun bouncing the Jarl like a ping pong ball and staying best buds!
  • Instant Chaos: Superfus has a shout recovery time of 1 second. That's shorter than the voice sound effect. Oh, and Superfus only has one word, so you don't have to wait for the long animation of "Fus... Ro Dah!" Instant chaos. Instant satisfaction.
  • Extra Cheats: Superfus recognizes that it's not the only shout you will use. It wishes it was the only one, but Superfus knows that isn't fair to you. Therefore, Superfus allows you to use not one, but two methods of removing shout recovery altogether: god mode, for those who just want to fling everything without repercussions; and zero recovery time for all shouts, in case you want to keep your wimpy mortal form.

Best of all, these options are placed in a clean and straightforward MCM menu. If you want to change the shout power variable manually, it is called FusMagnitude. You can set it in the console by typing "set fusmagnitude to 10000", inserting whatever value you want.

Installation/Requirements

Installation couldn't be more straightforward. If you have a mod manager, load the mod .zip file like any other. If you prefer a manual installation, unzip the folder and place the contents directly in your Skyrim Data folder. The script sources for both scripts are included, in case you're interested.

This mod does require SkyUI and SKSE for the MCM menu, though it is completely functional without the menu.

Compatibility

Superfus modifies the voice effect quest that adds the "FUS!" effect to the one-word version of Unrelenting Force. Specifically, Superfus adds a conditional to the event for the "FUS!" effect so that it is also triggered by the Superfus shout. This change is compatible with any mod that doesn't change the specific one-word "FUS!" effect in the voice effects quest. That said, the sound is nonessential, so if you do have a conflict, just put the other mod below Superfus.

Superfus also modifies the third effect of Unrelenting Force (triggered by the full "Fus... Ro Dah!") so that it now references
SuperFusEffectScript, not VoicePushEffectScript. This allows Unrelenting Force to take advantage of any changes to the effect magnitude from this mod. Unfortunately, it also means this mod is incompatible with any mod that only modifies VoicePushEffectScript. This is an unavoidable side effect of applying the change to both Unrelenting Force and Superfus. I am likely to post an alternate version of the mod in the future that does not make this change, but for now, keep that in mind if you have any other mods that modify Unrelenting Force.

All of the other features are completely new, meaning they do not affect any other mods. All in all, Superfus will be compatible with every mod that doesn't modify Unrelenting Force, and it will be compatible with the bulk of mods that do modify that shout. Hooray for compatibility!

Conclusion

If you're still with me, great. Thanks for reading to the end. If you're not, I hate your guts, and you can't do anything about it because you don't know. Unless you're not reading because you're too busy installing the mod, in which case we're okay.

If you're still with me, stop reading, because you need to install this mod. Now. Now. Why are you still reading? I said now. Go. Install the mod. Now.

Why aren't you installing the mod go do it now.

Thank you.

Install the mod now.

Goodbye.
