This is a how-to. Get a death hound follower that will sandbox like a regular dog.

THIS IS NOT A MOD. This is a how-to. I've decided to share some of the silly things I've found that can be done to the game.
Today, we're going to get a dopey death hound follower. This death hound won't stand around lifelessly! It will do all the things regular dogs will do: sandbox, smile, pant, scratch, lie down, sit, and bark. Best of all, it will do it all in the creepy death hound voice. Superbly weird!
Launch the game and open the console (usually the ~ key).
Type: help "cusith"
Something should come up that starts with the header 'NPC.' It should have a number in parentheses followed by CuSith's name. We want the number.
Type: player.placeatme (the number without parentheses) 1
Close the console (~ key again).
CuSith will appear. Unless you are a Dawnguard vampire, you won't be able to talk to him. This is where the follower mod comes in. Force-recruit him.
Use Jaxonz Renamer to name CuSith whatever you want.
Open the console again.
Click on your renamed death hound and type: sexchange
Close the console
If you've done this right, the death hound should start behaving like a normal dog. Congratulations! This change is permanent until you use the 'sexchange' function on the death hound again. Repeat the steps above as many times as you like/as your follower mod will allow for more dumb death hounds.
If you liked this tip and want to endorse it, download the dummy file. It contains the death hound doodle I drew.
