   I've been waiting for this
   why are you even supposed to visit Helgen first and get locked out of Whiterun when you're the Harbinger of Companions?
   anyway. you can just coc to dragonsreach and talk to balgruuf

   Thanks for this! The original Whiterun and Dragonsreach icon appeared again randomly after a while, but this mod got me through till it did! Thanks again <3

   SOLVED PROBLEM ( no need to mess with mods )
   I recently encoutered this problem and here the way of fixing it
   you are most likely visited *town name* without visiting helgen first + you did crime there (got any bounty on yourself) <--- In this case you need to pay off your bounty / serve jail time AFTER this marker will appear.
   tl;dr pay off bounty + visit Helgen

   I've been spending a lot of time trying to solve it. It's just as you said: pay your bounties > visit Helgen > Continue the main history (Take the book from a burned corpse > Visit Riverwood > Go to Whiterun and Speak with the Jarl
    
   Just after speak with the Jarl and reactivate main mission the Witherun's marker appeared.

   It seems the glitch happens if you enter whiterun with the live another life mod or use tmm 1 before the guard is told to stop you.

   I know a recent update to Alternate Start - Live Another Life caused this issue but has now been fixed in the latest version. Still, my Whiterun map marker is missing. Will this fix said issue caused by the previous verion of Alternate Start? Thanks.
