In few words Skyrim Chocolate is what Vanilla should have been. All the big gameplay mistakes and crap from Bethesda has been removed or optimized like, better and balanced Perks, Skill Trees, Cooking, Loot and many many other things.

If you haven't played Skyrim before you should play it now with Skyrim Chocolate.

Skyrim Chocolate is a comprehensive mod that contains a lot of famous features added by acclaimed "fine-tuning" mods, plus many other changes that brings Vanilla to a new whole level but without changing its core like others big overhaul does.

In few words Skyrim Chocolate is what Vanilla should have been. All the big gameplay mistakes and crap from Bethesda has been removed or optimized like, better and balanced Perks, Skill Trees, Cooking, Loot and many many other things.

If you haven't played Skyrim before you should play it now with Skyrim Chocolate.



Compatibility:

Skyrim Chocolate is designed to be 100% compatible with Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch which is highly recommended.
Other overhauls like T3nd0's Perkus MaximusRequiem, or any mod that change Perks, Cooking and Loot is higlhy INCOMPATIBLE.
Skyrim Chocolate should be compatible with any other type of mods.
Skyrim Chocolate is script-free, so it's safe to install and unistall.
Skyrim Chocolate REQUIRES ALL DLC and last Skyrim patch.
Compatibility patches and different versions of the mod will be added as soon as possible. 
The esp file is cleaned with Tes5edit. 






Making a changelog was a challenge since Skyrim Chocolate cover a lot of different features hard to categorize. I did my best, hope you invest few minutes to read all the changes and appreciate the final results. Some changes will have an attached link, which represent the relative mod from where the changes are inspired.



Drop & Loot overhaul:

Skyrim Chocolate has many things in common with mods like Morrowloot or Scarcity. Philosophy is the same (make things a little harder to obtain, and make drops a bit more realistic) but of course there are no drastic changes, loot is just more polished and rewarding compared to Vanilla.

  • Removed enchanted weapons and armors from vendors.
  • Reduced arrows, potions, ingredients, raw and refined materials sold by vendors.
  • Globally decreased lockpicks dropped, looted and sold by vendors.
  • Globally decreased gold dropped and looted.
  • Better loot for animals and giants, no armors, weapons or gems, just more leather and animals part.
  • Removed poison and resist potion dropped from spider and ice wrath (they are of course added to enemies loot)
  • Increased salt founded in barrels (this will help with the new Cooking mechanics).



Worthwhile Cooking:

Cooking has been slightly changed and expanded. Basically "Restore Health" effects has been removed from uncooked food, so you are now forced to cook ingredients if you want to have a "Restore Health" resource.

Fortify Alchemy and Smithing no longer overpowered:

The following changes will make the Fortify Alchemy+Smithing "exploit" far less powerful. Indeed the most powerful Fortify Smithing you can now craft is +45%, which is still lower than the Blacksmith's Elixir (50%), a potion you can only find during exploration.
Also the new armor rating cap will increase the usefulness of other low tier armor even if full tempered with all the best potions and perk. 

  • Fortify alchemy and smithing base enchant magnitude has been reduced from 8 to 2. 
  • Fortify alchemy and smithing enchant from existing items has been reduced by around 50%. 
  • Fortify smithing magnitude from ingredients has been halved.
  • New armor rating cap set at 1059.



Tweaked Perks and Talent Trees:

In Skyrim Chocolate few perks and trees has been tweaked in order to buff existing Perks, condense trees or make them more clear and intuitive. 


-Alchemy:

  • The whole tree has been redisigned in order to grant more freedom and don't force the player to chose undesired perks.
  • Experimenter Perk now have 1 tier only.

-Enchanting:

  • Fire, storm and frost perks are now stand-alone perks.

-Smithing:

  • Dragon Smithing Perk now requires 90 smithing (instead of 100)
  • Daedric Smithins Perk now requires 100 smithing (instead of 90)
  • Light and Heavy armor now have separated branch
  • Advanced Armors is now a stand-alone perk

-Lockpicking:

  •  Lockpicking has been reworked in order to be less demanding and a bit more interesting. For more information check Simplified Lockpicking Tree mod page.

-Archery:

  • Hunter's discipline is now a stand-alone perk
  • Power shot chance to stagger reduced to 30% (from 50%)

-Speech:

  • Each Haggling Perks has been buffed.
  • Persuasuion and Intimitadion are now merged into one perk (Manipulator)
  • Allure effect buffed to 25% from 10%
  • Investor gold amount increased to 1000 from 500
  • Master trader gold amount increased to 2000 from 1000



Major Quality of life changes:



Minor Gameplay changes and Fixes:

  • Empowered Staff of Magnus in order to make it interesting (magnitude increased from 20 to 50)
  • New enchant for Miraak (which is unleveled now): Magicka increased by 80, and Magicka regenerate 100% faster.
  • Skooma Magnitude increased from 25 to 100 (value increased to match the increased magnitude).
  • Stamina drains while sprinting has been doubled (reason behind this is to increase the meaning of Stamina and to reduce the chance the player will easily escape hard combat).
  • Buy and sell cost are increased and decreased respectively at low speech levels (this will slightly decrease the pace which player reach huge amout of gold and it increase the difficulty to obtain materials and stuff).
  • Arrow and Bolts are now 75% faster.
  • Starting spells has been removed (in order to give more freedom and flexibility to your build, also it decrease the easiness of the beginning).
  • Vampire now wear gauntlets [Dawnguard Gauntlets Fix]
  • Bandits now wear helmets [Bandits wear Helmets]
  • Couriers now wear Leather armor [Better Courier Outfit]
  • Lockpick weight increased from 0 to 0.1 [Lockpick weight Fix]
  • Leather weight changed to fix inconcistencies [Leather weight Fix]
  • Movarth's Boots now look like a proper Vampire boots [Lore-Worthy Movarth's Boots]
  • Unique outfits for Imperial and Stormcloak quartermasters [Lore-Worthy Quartermasters]
  • Circlets are now craftable [Craftable Circlets]

The following changes about masks are included in my mod Mages loves Dragon priest masks. The reason for this changes is to make Masks synergize well with full cloth mages and make them work with Mage Armor Perk.
  • armor type changed from Light/Heavy armor to Clothing
  • weight changed to 1
  • armor rating changed to 0
  • removed masks tempering recipes









*Disclaimer: even if many changes are almost identical to other mods, i have redone anything from scratch and no unique assets from other mods has been used, so no authorization were needed to compile and publish Skyrim Chocolate. Besides authorizations i am deeply thankful for modder that give me ideas for this mod.
