Are you using Alternate Start's escape this cell option along with Bring Your Own Silver? Have you ever tried killing the ghosts in the prison with the provided iron dagger? Nigh impossible. Well, fret (stab?) no more because I've decided to replace the iron dagger with a silver sword.

I haven't used an actual silver sword though; I created a copy of the silver sword with lower damage named Pockmarked Silver Sword. Regular silver swords do the same damage as steel swords and getting a sword with a damage value that high at the very beginning seemed cheap. This sword has a base damage value of 5, which is one damage higher than a regular iron dagger.

The sword cannot be upgraded at a grinding wheel; it was literally designed to help you kill the ghosts in the Abandoned Prison and nothing more. If you want an in-game reason for this, you can say that the blade is too weak and brittle to be sharpened and would more likely break when put against the grinding wheel.

Also, note that because this is meant to be used with Bring Your Own Silver, the Pockmarked Silver Sword does not possess the vanilla silver enchantment. Bring Your Own Silver completely changes the way undead react to silver weapons which does not use the vanilla silver enchantment in any capacity.

This is mod is quite simple, and can easily be added into an existing merged patch by an experienced TES5Edit user. I can put up a guide explaining how to do so if there is enough demand.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Although I mention that this mod is meant to be used with both Alternate Start and Bring Your Own Silver, they are not actually required to have this mod work.
