after 16 years of fun and challenges I have decided to go into retirement. Being a member and contributor of this great community has been a lot of fun. But with 69 years of age I'm afraid that I'm not able to provide those contributions any more that some of you might expect. Thank you so much to those many modders and users I have worked together with during this time in order to stem exciting challenges. And my apologies to those I might have overreacted to in times of frustration.
All my mods, and in particular FNIS, FNIS SE, and FNIS Sources, are passed over to "The Care Taker", and are fully owned now by "Nexus Mods". And I will not be active any more in any of the Nexus threads, including those I have hosted for years.
Although the timing might imply, this decision was made weeks ago, and has nothing to do with the disastrous situation the whole world is facing now. But it is a clean cut for the coming days, months, and maybe years where I want to take care only for my family and myself.
FNIS mods First Aid Instructions for Mod Organizer users
MO has FNIS related bugs, and also includes traps that are very nasty. FNIS has a lot of error and warnning checks, right? But due to the structure of MO, FNIS is rather helpless against these pit-falls. So if you experience unexplainable usage problems with FNIS mods under Mod Organizer, then check and do the following steps.
Remove the following files and folders (necessary only once)
meshes/animation*.txt meshes/actors/character/behaviors meshes/actors/character/animations/*FNIS* (folders) scripts/*FNIS*.pex (Explanation: these remnant files are from the time when you used NMM or manual install. In case you make a mistake using FNIS under MO, they can make you believe that everything is in shape and render FNIS checks useless)
In the left MO pane, have you unticked the FNIS Overwrite mod before running FNIS?
You didn't forget to run FNIS, did you? :)
Have you taken care of ALL warnings and especially ERRORS in the FNIS generator window?
After FNIS generation, did you create an FNIS Overwrite mod (called "FNIS Output", for example)
PCEA2: did you check meshes/actors/character/animations/FNIS_PCEA2/PCEA2_Overview.txt to see what is actually included?
Did you tick "FNIS Output" in the left pane before starting "SKSE"?
When the game starts, you didn't get any error message boxes which you simply clicked off?
If you have run your current save already with an older version of the FNIS mod: did you make a clean(ed) save? Especially when the old version has had issues.
fnis won't help you here, you must have uninstalled a mod and now the animations are missing. I had this problem too, you are left with 2 options, the first is to load the game save from before the problem occurred or the second option which is the best solution is to start a new game.
Can someone help? My friends game is not working at all! FNIS won't even detect its own add ons, saying it has no animation files. He uses Sexy Move, FNISPCEA2, and FNIS. It says 0 animations, and that 2 files were redirected.
idk if this is being checked or anything but i need help. my fnis keeps making my game crash every time im in solstehiem any help on making that fix would be greatly appreciated
Making my custom animations work is more effort than it's worth right now. Especially when the tutorials act as if it's so simple going into the files, extracting this, open this, name this, run fnis, then start game to see....can someone at least make a video on extracting files or copying them or whatever just in relation to pcea2 It would erase most of the confusion
For quite some time i get some errors. I installed FNIS+Creatures+spells+tkdodge and fnis pcea2 true MO no other mods or animation files left active in my mod folder. FNIS cannot find the path to the following file: fp20_1hm_blockbashintro.hkx i dont know this fp20_1hm_blockbashintro.hkx why makeing problems two weeks earlyer i dont have any problems at all but now fnis and all its components not working as it should be. I have a sprint sceen of it but its in my langue and not in english.
I don't know if this mod is the cause, but I'm having a weird problem with two-handed weapons. They show on my character's back, but my character does the one-handed hip animation when drawing and sheathing them. Anyone know how to fix this?
my FNIS is full on for some reason being rejected, its work partially but still being seen as not there,i've been working on it for days and can't seem to figure out the problem..

No, they shouldn't be used together.
any help on making that fix would be greatly appreciated
I installed FNIS+Creatures+spells+tkdodge and fnis pcea2 true MO no other mods or animation files left active in my mod folder.
FNIS cannot find the path to the following file: fp20_1hm_blockbashintro.hkx

OK, I FIXED it by disabling windows antivirus. Seems that it was blocking FNIS from doing its job.
Thanks for everything you did for the community. Skyrim wouldn't have been the same without you! I hope you're safe and well.
