one of the best fixes evar. thank u. be great to get a description of what u did here. because i've seen this same neck pop thing in couple other situations. think one was a female getting out of sleeping bed (animation was vanilla i think) and female bathing from bathing in skyrim mod
I uploaded the mod on the SE page. KnightRangersGuild you have full access. Here is the link: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/22143
Although it happens rarely, seeing this glitch actually makes me feel a bit ill. It's like the npc's neck suddenly broke or something. Just - Terribly - Wrong.
Since no one's ported this over to SE yet, I thought I'd let anyone interested to know that Marthgun's mod "Skryim to Skyrim SE Convert Animations HKX" works beautifully in converting it over for use in SE.
If you're still checking things here KnightRangersGuild, I'd be glad to post a copy on the SE side of things giving you credit for the fix.
Hi, I've also ported your mod into the SE in the same way. Unfortunately, n0mad23 did not upload his port. Since you have given the permission, I will take over. Name and creator of the mod stay the same, I'll just upload it.
can you port this fix over to SSE or can it work as is for SSE really could use this fix because im having the same issue on SSE check out this video Skyrim SE Getting DRUNK with Followers Vilja, Sofia, Recorder and Lydia https://youtu.be/v5NaPuhGVQU
I'm just trying it now. It should be very easy... (she said, dooming herself)
Worked fine. Just extract the .7z file to your desktop, download SSE NIF Optimizer if you haven't got it already and run it on the folder on your desktop, then copy the Data directory in the folder on to the SSE Data directory. No need to run LOOT or Wrye Bash or anything. Easy as pie.
NifOptimizer is for .nif files, but animations are .hkx files, so NifOptimizer does not work here, you need to convert it with this tool: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2970/
Perhaps you have not been observant enough or simply have just been lucky enough to not observe it. It occurs on any skeleton from vanilla to XP Maximum in my case. No issues getting my skeletons sorted out either. If those people had indeed fouled up their skeleton install they would have major issues stemming beyond one animation error. I should also note that it's fairly random and not persistent with the drunk animation. Just my thoughts...no offense intended.
Hm. Sounds more like another mod incompatibility to me. I'm still betting on another skeleton, likely inside a bsa. Might check the contents of your bsa's if there are any hkx files in there and such. That's why I only install manually, more control over the crap you get thrown into your game.
That may be but I've got about 230 mods running flawlessly together, no ctd or freezing either. This was a bug I've had since the beginning. I've tried tracking the root cause but never could find it so I decided to take another look and boom, found a fix.
HDTeeth its a vanilla bug, first do a research dont put you thoughts easily, you going to stand as a ignorant to another users, also you generate doubts in beginner users.
This exact bug can occur cause mod incompatibility yes, so you are not entirely wrong. but the way you post it is wrong.

I have ported your animations to SE and would like to ask you for permission to upload them to the SE page. (Of course all Credits goes to you.)
I used the following tool:

I use LIAT for SE and could fix the sinking head bug with your revised mod.
