Are you tearing your hair out trying to figure out why your "chance to become pregnant" isn't going above 6% or so, no matter what you do, even after setting it to 100%?  Well, good news--I'm here to save you.

Here's the scenario: throughout your entire cycle, your chance to become pregnant just hovers between 2-6%.  You set it at 100%, but it doesn't help.  You try to test it by eliminating variables.  You disable all other plugins and start a quick test game by coc-ing into an empty cell, like qasmoke.  You set the chance at 100%, set the phases to the minimum duration, then wait through the cycle to see what happens... and it works!  The chance to become pregnant skyrockets to 99% during ovulation!  So you go back to your real save with all plugins and it's still at 2-6%.  You set it to 100 and wait through another cycle to no avail.  WTF is happening??  Has this scenario happened to you?  Well, that's what happened to me, but I think I finally figured it out, and now I'm going to explain it.

    Ready?

Okay, so there are two possible scenarios during any given menstrual cycle.  In the first scenario, your "chance to become pregnant" spikes to high 90's% during ovulation, then steadily drops throughout luteal.  This is what we expect to happen.  Let's call this scenario A.  The other possibility is that your chance just fluctuates between 2-6%, maybe 8% at the highest, and never increases.  The cycle is just a dud.  Let's call this scenario B.

Okay, now for the slightly mindblowing part: you know that "chance to conceive" slider in the MCM under menstrual cycle setting?  The one you change?  Okay, so that number, that percentage, is not the same number as your "chance to become pregnant" displayed by the widget and information during the cycle.  Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat??  It's true.  That number, the setting that you can change, determines the odds of getting scenario A or scenario B for any given cycle.  The default is 40%.  So, what that means is that there's a 40% chance that you'll get scenario A, and your chance to become pregnant will spike during ov, and a 60% chance that your chance to become pregnant will flatline for the entire cycle.  Get it?  The "chance to conceive" setting is not the number you see during the cycle; it's the percent chance that you will get scenario A for that cycle.

I thought that scenario B, the dud cycle, was a bug, but it's intentional.  The reason for this mechanic is to simulate the real life scenario where a woman might not be able to conceive at all during a given cycle because the egg fails to stick to the uterine wall or something like that.  Ausbrecher tried to explain all this in a post, but all due respect, I don't think he (she? idk) made it very clear.

So, if you set the slider to 100%, then you should get scenario A every time.  But wait--hold the phone; why does that not seem to have any effect for many people?  Well, this might be an unintended bug, idk, but I have found that when you change the "chance to conceive" slider, it does not update, it does not have any effect until you go to the system tab and click on the reset option that stops and restarts all Beeing Female functions.  But that's not all--you also won't see any change until the next cycle.  So, if you want to be able to conceive every cycle, then set the slider at 100%, go to system and click execute on the reset thingy, then wait until the next cycle, and it should, should (knock on wood), work as expected forever after.

Otherwise, one of the best and most important mods in my loadout.  I cannot thank you enough, Ausbrecher.

Alright, I hope that helps someone.  And remember kids, you don't have to be tall to be really, really big.  James Halliday, AWAY!!!  *Flies up and crashes through the ceiling of the Nexus, leaving a cartoonish, human-shaped hole in the roof*

    *EDIT*
Okay, so after a little more playing, it seems this thing is still acting a little squirrely.  I'm still confident that everything I said is accurate, but it seems like that "chance to conceive" number that decides whether you get scenario A or scenario B doesn't always work correctly, even when set at 100%, and even after executing a reset.  That number definitely decides whether your "chance to become pregnant" will spike during ov, or flatline throughout the whole cycle, but it just doesn't seem to work reliably and consistently.  I love this mod so much, but divines help me, it's just so random and finicky.  It works when it feels like it.  But I finally found what I believe is the be-all end-all solution.  If you start ovulating and your chance to become pregnant is still garbage, then go to the general settings, temporarily change the information level to debugging so that you can access the cheat options, go to the debug menu and find that checkbox that says "conception possible this cycle".  It's unchecked, right?  That little piece of sh*t is your culprit, right there.  It's supposed to stay checked if you set that other chance slider to 100%, but it seems to like to uncheck itself sometimes anyway.  Check it.  Now your chance to become pregnant should be hot to trot.  Change the info level back to low or immersive or whatever you had it on.  Presto.  Solved.  Unfortunately, you'll have to do that each time it breaks, but it's only a few clicks, and it's way better than not having it work at all and just outright cheating to become pregnant by clicking the "job to do".  Sorry for such a long post.  Gods I love this mod, but MAN, it's taken years off my life to figure this sh*t out!  :/

AWAY!! *Makes a second hole next to the first one.*

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but the three books you mentioned are not in my inventory. I've started new games for this mod two or three times. The last time, I uninstalled everything then reinstalled them one by one prior to starting the new game. When I go to my MCM menu, Beeingfemale doesn't load until I select the force load option. My curiosity about how this mod plays out is killing me! Help, please!

I'm also curious about this.  I use SLab from LL, and am wondering if impregnation can occur from those actions.  And if so can you turn off the chances from just sleeping in the MCM?

Are there any vanilla armor replacer mods that are compatible with both bodyslide and beeing female?

PSVAC doesn't allow for bodyslide editing, and Vanilla Outfits BodySlided (despite having a "pregnant" node on the belly) just doesn't have it scale when I test it.

Cause in a position where all the women in my game can look pregnant with clothing, but their other "assets" are just in hammer space, vs women only look pregnant when they're naked. I'm inclined to go with the latter, but I'd rather just find something that works, y'know?

Everything is possible in the game, and you should not forget about it.
