PLEASE NOTICE: The extra Mapweather FIX is not needed anymore. It is already included in our mod.

    PHYSICAL SNOW

PLEASE NOTICE: the key K disables physical snow.
Physical snow will be rendered in a certain Radius around the Player and normal Non physical snow is being used
for distant snow. Physical snow will react on all inworld objects and collides with them. This resoults in creating
a shelter effect as soon you are standing below a object. Physical snow though is EXPERIMENTAL. It will render a lot
of Snow emitters and the quality of the effect strongly depends on your Rig and the ammount of heavy scripted mods
you already run with. As more laggy your scripts are as less script time there is to place snow emitters and as less
dense the physical snow will be. At the moment i do recommend it for screenshots and short term plays because
longterm Tests are still missing. Please have a look at the Bugs section for things that can occour.
Also Physical snw will always look different than the normal non physical snow.

    PHYSICAL SNOW BUGS:
Lag, Engine Limitation and other mods can produce either not to stop the snow from emitting (snow during no snowy days),
snow being frozen and not animated as well as snow falling though roofs sometimes. Also there are reports about messages like
"Physical snow disabled" and "Gained" texts displaying in the upper left corner. Those are also not from physical snow but from other mods that are yet unknown to us and somehow do not like physical snow scripts.

    How the mapfix works:
It want to explain here how the Mapfix works and why it is present. Without the Mapfix esp skyrim will not properly force the weather back when the map is closed. That means once you open the map during a snowstorm and close it without fasttraveling, all your snow particles will be gone.
The map fix trys to reforce the weather as soon the map is closed. By forcing this, skyrim will rerender the particles. You will see how they will reappear.

    Feature Plannings and Development:
    - Optimizions to the Physical snow performance
    - further emitter optimizions to the physical snow.
    - Real skyrim Rain to be released as seperate mod

This is easy to port to SSE.  Just open the script and remove the part that checks for the game name (not like you would accidentally run this on something else anyway).

Not sure if it was like this in LE but the first time snow appears on a save has to be natural - won't work if you fast travel.  If you do, use the console to force snowy weather.

This definitely looks better than any snowflake mods available on SSE. Please port if you have the time. Thanks

Sure SE has better snow than vanilla LE, but nothing looks cooler than when you're running Vivid Snow, and you've got a torch at night, and you can see the torch light in the snowflakes around you, you don't get that in SE. I tried porting this over myself, by simply updating the plugin to form 44, and letting Cathedral Optimizer have  ago at the mod files, but seems to not have worked. I looked a little under the hood, but it seems to have some sort of quest-based dynamic that's a bit beyond me, so I would love to see someone more knowledgeable put this in SE properly.

The physical snow is really something else. I AM running a heavily scripted game, mostly mods to overhaul the combat to make it more fluid. The moment I installed the physical snow and went up to Bleak Falls Barrow it became boarder line unplayable even though my avg script latency stayed under 100ms, but highs went as much as 166ms at times. Although I didn't have framerate issues at all, the scripts for my other mods were lagging really bad.

It's certainly impressive both in visuals and how much it taxes the engine. A great, if successful proof of concept for good old 32 bit Skyrim I'd say.Job well done. Too bad we'll never see that real rain version

First off I wanna say, I love this mod. Walking by a brazier and seeing the snow glow orange or walking around the college and seeing the snow glow blue looks stunning. However I have a bit of an issue, my snow effects look like square sheets falling from the sky, they still have the textures in them but it doesn't look natural, I wanted to see if there was something that I could do to fix that. Your mod was included with the vivid weathers mod but I wanted to come here to see if there was a fix. Any help would be wonderful!

Tldr: Snow looks like square sheets instead of natural snow and I want to fix it.

I'm running into an issue and I was hoping someone could help me out.
First off, this mod is great! At first it didn't work but then I realized it was because I was using NLVA and that they weren't compatible. So, just for this mod, I switched back to CoT.
    Anyway, here's the issue:
A few weeks back I was running into a problem where whenever I was looking at a large fire, such as a long fireplace, giant's bonfire, etc. I would get a huge FPS drop. Now, mind you, I play around 30-40 FPS, which usually doesn't bother me - however, it would drop down to 15 and was quite noticeable. As soon as I turned away and it unloaded the fire, it was fine.
I found that the reason for this is because my iMaxDesired was set to 6000 - a remnant from when I previously decided to install this mod, I realize now. As soon as I lowered it, everything was fine. No fps drop.
However, now that I've re-installed this mod, I have continued getting the fps drop with the fire. It's mostly in interiors as well - I'll get 30-40 fps outdoors, and 15-20 indoors. However, I have no idea what the workaround for this would be, or if it even exists. I would greatly appreciate help!
TL;DR the iMaxDesired is set at 6000, the minimum for this mod, but is too high for rendering fire on my rig.

I can not install it. I did as the tutorial says. I installed TES5Edit and clicked Apply Script. But nothing has changed at all Snow. What did I do wrong? And how to uninstall, to try again?
