its quite possible to use them effectively. the best way to use runes is by rolling a stealth magic user. otherwise, theres no point so unless you tried that you might not realize the benefits. Shoot the target with a poisoned arrow at the moment they trip the rune to deal massive damage
Stealth magic is loads of fun but takes a long time to build up since you need silent casting. Once you get there though it is fun using illusion and trap spells. My favorite is stealth fury XP
You sit in stealth watching them all kill each other. While that it happening you can set up a trap area for the last guy or depending on your ability to cast runes farther you can shoot some into the fray and watch them blow up and keep on fighting.
Its the reason why i stopped using mods that make stealth harder. I like abusing the default sneak tree for the crazy results.
At first I thought the description (the pop-up one) meant that being close to the rune would boost your Restoration, give it a buff. Wouldn't that kinda runes be pretty effin' cool?
It does use the sun effects from Dawnguard, but as it is you can only choose between sun damage versus all enemies or sun damage versus undead only depending on which file you download. I am asking if it is possible to combine both of those options so you can deal minor sun damage to all enemies and undead enemies like Draugr or vampires take triple damage, sort of like how like Auriel's Bow works.
That way the spell is not useless against people, but is more lethal to undead.
For enchantments there are two effects added by Dawnguard.
dlc1EnchSunDamage (This causes damage to all enemies) dlc1EnchSunDamageUndead (This damages undead only)
So the Sun Rune spell needs a similar variable for each of those effects in order to use both at the same time.
Then you would add sundamage 25 for 2 seconds and sundamageundead 25 for 2 seconds for double or 50 for 2 for triple damage to undead.
I can do it using the enchantment, but unfortunately I don't know how to do it myself using this mod or I would.
It's possible to combine both effects into one rune. It's about putting 2 magic effects with the same parameters with one of them having the condition to target only undead, and then putting them together on the same spell/enchantment/hazard/explosion/etc.
I absolutely enjoy using this mod. When I finally get the chance to sit down and thoroughly learn the CK, I want to make a follower that can live up to the greatness of your mods.

2. Place runes around the target.
3. Wait.
4. BOOOOM!
It causes 20 points of damage to all enemies and triple damage to undead.
Is it possible to create a similiar effect for this rune spell?
I haven't used it yet, but from this, I imagine that's what it does. Also, the first optional file.
