I ever wondered why my character couldn't do any research for gaining skills
like exploring things, writing down results, collect it and improve experience.
I created this mod for my interests but I did not found any simliar mod so I
uploaded it for the community.


About this mod

This mod gives the opportunity to the player to craft skill books with some more
boost than 1 point per book. I tried to scale down the ability of crafting by using
items which are not that common like pelts or mountain flowers.

How does it work

The craftable books give you varieties of skill points in either alteration,
conjuration, destruction, illusion, restoration or enchanting.
If you read the book you will get the choice of the skill.
The book will be destroyed after usage.

First of all you need to learn how to research magic (and to craft the books).
There is a place in Skyrim where young mages would go first to learn anything
about magic. (Exact location on the bottom of the readme file)
There is a book at that location which will teach you the lesser power "Arcane Study".
With this power you can open the crafting menu.

At start you will only be able to craft "Writing" which give you one skill point.
When your experience grows you're able to craft better books.
Crafting & requirements list below:

Writing (3x skull, 3x paper roll, 1x empty common soul gem, 1x inkwell, 1x quill)
the crafting alternative: (3x skull, 3x paper roll, 1x empty common soul gem, 1x charcoal)
This is the base item, there are no additional conditions to craft it.
On reading you will gain 1 point in one of the mentioned skills.

Ancient Writing (3x Writing)
At least one of your magic skills (including enchanting) must be at least at level 25.
On reading you will gain 4 points in one of the mentioned skills.

Arcane Study (3x Ancient Writing)
At least one of your magic skills (including enchanting) must be at least at level 50.
On reading you will gain 13 points in one of the mentioned skills.

Arcane Knowledge (3x Arcane Study)
At least one of your magic skills (including enchanting) must be at least at level 75.
On reading you will gain 42 points in one of the mentioned skills.

Incompatibilities

The physically workbench is situated in QASmoke so it might conflict with any mods
that manipulate QASmoke, too.

This mod will not get any updates in the near future.
