Have you thought about maybe making a small quest to go with this? insted of crafting it, maybe set it up to were after you gain the savior's hide or ring, you get a vision, of a cave or alter. you go there and have to find a beast of Hircine, to prove you are the ultimate hunter, and the reward is a chest with these items in it?just a suggestion. i am thilled to see someone adding stuff for Hircine, who is one of my favorite daedric princes
I am currently prepping a major update. I've play tested a bit, and at least with my play style some of this didn't work. And since I don't have a cadre of play testers I'm tweaking it for me. I've also started researching quests and multi-part quests. Wish me luck.
Looks like a good start. I appreciate more specially-themed equipment like this, Just curious - do you think you'll be interested in making equipment sets for the other Princes? I like the idea of using your armor as a light armor counterpart for the companions' Wolf Armor, it still looks rather heavy with those steel plates however. I suggest replacing more of the metal with leather, fur perhaps chainmail, if you're able to do so without losing the wolf theme.
The axe's crit-boosting enchantment sounds kind of overpowered to me. All the bonuses against animals, on the other hand, are limited in use in my opinion. I think Hircine's theme of hunting encompasses much more than hunting wild animals. I don't know if this will help, but I suggest these themes when you're coming up with special bonuses:
-Werebeasts -The struggle for survival all around us, nature at its cruelest -Despite the above, a sense of honor and fairness - Hircine himself is rather a sport-hunter, and sports have rules. -Turnarounds - hunted becomes the hunter - that's a sure way to impress Hircine.
I'm not sure those thoughts are of much use, but I was thinking of how the bonuses could make you a better hunter in general, and the strange crafting ingredients you gave these items gave me inspiration. Now, this is just an idea if you need a direction to go in:
Instead of using random pelts and such to craft the armor, craft it using regular materials, but offer remains of a certain type of creature to Hircine to gain bonuses against that creature. Sort of a favored-enemy type of thing. Sacrifice dragon scales or bones to Hircine to become a better hunter of/more difficult prey to dragons, sacrifice bear claws to or pelts for better offense and/or defense against bears, etc.
I want to go point by point through this because you gave it some time. Thank you for the encouragement. I AM very interested in more Prince themed sets but there are two major limitations to me getting too deep into it. #1 despite the fact that I'm a smart guy (I have a PhD in mathematics and an undergrad in math+computer science) I have no idea how to do the scripting. I could learn obviously but I'm not sure if I want to give it the time. #2 I have 0 skills at doing graphical nonsense (i.e., custom models/textures). I'd love to replace the chest plates with chain and tweak the other pieces also, but I can't. If you know someone who can then let's do it.
The crit-boosting sounds OP, but it is not for two reasons. A crit is usually half of the weapon's BASE damage. So a 100% boost is equivalent to the Great Critical Charge Perk, at 25% of the time this is essentially equivalent to adding 1/4 of the base damage as extra damage to every hit (not really a lot). If I wrote 25% crit damage 100% of the time then the effect would be boring. This way it will be spikey but I think inline (not to mention only against members of the creature faction).
I wanted to avoid actually affecting the werewolf itself because they don't technically have any gear on so keeping track of things would be more connected to Hircine blessing the player, not so much with granting gear. I could be convinced to look into the most popular survival mods and give bonuses to survival with this gear.
My want of doing quests leads more to the point that you make in the end. It would be a lot like a few of the existing hunting mods I play with, but like instead of bringing the carcases to the hunting guild I sacrifice them to hircine.
Thank you for the comment and don't forget to endorse if you really like it.

Good mod thank you
