Doesn't even work. I've tried everything (and I'm a programmer, so I mean EVERYTHING) and all my soups still look like the same old garbage. I have NOTHING installed that changes food of any kind, and there are no conflicts in the Mod Manager. I give up. Sad uninstall for me. :(

I just installed these textures, and they work just fine.

You likely have conflicts that soups should win, but you're not letting them.

I LOVE these textures, and I'm using them in Skyrim AE now. Yum! (they don't need to be converted or changed in any way, just load as normal)
For those using Dawn of Skyrim - Director's Cut: you may have noticed that the "clam chowder" in the fishmonger's stall in Whiterun looks unappetizing. That's because it's the texture for porridge! YUCK!!! You can fix this with the fancy clam chowder from this mod: unpack the zip file for this mod and rename the two clam chowder files "porridge02.dds" and "porridge02_n.dds". Put them in a file structure like this: textures>clutter>food>mtc
and zip them up. Use a mod manager to load the zip and make sure it's below DoS. Voila! Nasty porridge is now delicious clam chowder!

First of all: Awesome textures! I love them.

But somehow it only works for the clam chowder an potato soup. All the other soups and chowders still use their vanilla textures.
I don't use any food-related mods except SMIM and iNeed. I installed the mod via Mod Organizer - as usual - and even put it on top priority.

But still: Nada. Any idea what I could've possibly done wrong? :/

I tested this mod on vanilla with all DLCs. And I put it on lowest of the Mod Organizer list. (to the bottom)

Well, that doesn't really answer the question why the mod only works for 2 of the soups, but thanks for the answer.

And the textures are already at "the bottom" of the MO-hierarchy (the higher the number, the higher the priority) so they should overwrite any other mods that change the food textures.

I used the fancy soups and it works for me. If you installed in MO then look in the conflicts tab. Make sure it is overwriting other soups and not being overwritten itself

Maybe iNeed is using its own meshes and textures for the soups? I was just going to post whether this mod conflicts with the soup meshes and textures from Realistic Needs and Diseases.

edit - I think this could be the problem actually. I've just unpacked the BSA of realistic needs and diseases and it has soup textures and soup meshes so it looks like if you want to get Quilbs textures to work with iNEED or RND you'll need to manually construct a file structure like iNEED or RND.

for example. In RND for the apple cabbage stew the file structure is textures>rnd>applecabbagestew.dds - so if you make a file structure like that it should overwrite the RND texture.... I think, unless I'm talking rubbish.

No it's not rubbish...... RND would need a patch to work. The folder path is different, and the names are different too. The default soups all have 01 on the end of the name, the RND soups do not.

Sorry to bring you down. Please run ModOrganizer, move your mouse down to the this mod and click with the right mouse button to bring up a menu. Then, choose 'information' from the menu and click 'conflicts' tap.
"The following conflicted files are provided by other mods" Do you see the this sentence? Maybe other mods will be there. If not, I don't know much any more. I'm very sorry this happened..

Hi Quilb, mod organizer won't show that there is a conflict with RND (I don't know about iNEED) because the file structure is different for its meshes and textures. For example for Realistic Needs and Diseases the meshes and textures folders are - meshes>rnd>nif files and textures>rnd>dds files. So it probably explains why some people won't see some of your textures when they are using Realistic Needs and Diseases or iNEED.

Like Gamwich says it would require a patch to get your textures to show up in game, because at the moment your textures are replacing the vanilla textures but RND/iNEED is telling the game to use its own meshes and textures instead of vanilla and therefore some of your textures won't show up if people are using these 2 mods... I think that's right.

So using RND and apple cabbage stew as an example.

      Your mod is--

      textures> _byoh> clutter> food> applecabbagestew01.dds

For an RND patch the file structure and dds name should be changed to--

      textures> rnd > applecabbagestew.dds

      @quib

There's no reason you would know about the issue if you hadn't unpacked the BSA for those mods. Your retextures work fine for the vanilla game, but both Real Needs and Diseases and iNeed have their own textures and meshes for the soups. They will override the vanilla assets.

Those two mods would require patches to work with your textures. It's purely up to you whether you want to include these patches though. It's your mod.

iNeed does not have its own meshes/textures for soups. I just checked in game, and they all work fine. I even looked at iNeed's bsa to make sure, and it does not contain any special meshes or textures for soups. There is no need for an iNeed patch. I don't know why you're having this problem, but I'm not.

OK, thanks for that...... it's just RND that would require a patch then. I assumed it was the same based on grazman's comments. I don't use iNeed myself.

Sorry, I hope that didn't sound hostile, Gamwich. I just wanted to emphasize to OP and quilb that iNeed didn't need any patching and wasn't the issue here. That's why I used italics instead of CAPS because I hoped that'd seem less aggressive, lol.

No offense taken.... I just assumed from the comment that iNeed also had unique textures/meshes. I would've checked, but I don't have that mod downloaded. It's important to get the right information incase quib wants to do any more patches.

I made an installer that seems to work (taking into account SMIM and/or RND with the available options). Unsure if anyone would be interested in checking it out / testing. I've done some of my own and it seems to handle things. As it is my first NMM installer (I was looking for a reason to learn how) it may not be as elegant as it could be, but I think it does the job. I did PM the author here but no one got back to me.

Yes I am talking to myself again. I did get the OK and put it up, although there is a bit more to do to stay 'current' it seems, particularly for users of both SMIM and RND like me.

I am using the Vanilla Fancy Version, and I only have a few textures showing as well, no matter what I try. I use iNeed and LOOT.

I think I have found the reason why the textures aren't showing up for certain people (when not using RND, I see that issue is already tracked down).
The thing is, in vanilla Skyrim, all soups use a generic "stew" texture: it is the Dragonborn and Hearthfire DLCs that assign different textures for each soup.
The problem is, many mods that edit these items somehow don't forward the changes and make the soups use the generic texture again. In my case, it was requiem and several of its patches, so in my game, ALL soups use the same generic stew texture.
I think MO won't show conflicts since this mod only edits textures, but I don't use it myself so I don't really know.
The solution is getting all the soups IDs with the console, open your entire plugin list in TES5edit, search for the IDs, and see which plugins are overwriting them, and then forward the texture change. This needs to be done MANUALLY because every person will have different plugins causing this problem.

Quilb, if you read this, I can send you a tutorial on how to do this so you can upload it (only if you need it), PM me or something and ill do it tomorrow cause it's 2:39 here in Spain.
Maybe this is something very basic that everyone knows how to do... but for me it wasn't, so just in case, I am willing to help.

      Load order huh?

      What load order?

All I get when I download simm fancy version is a texture folder, there is no file to use in a load order.

First thing that came into my head when I saw the optional non-creamy tomato soup file:

    Campbell's Chunky Tomato Soup!

I don't even know if they have that, but whatever. :P

How do I get the guard to dance in soup in front of Heimskr?
