THE GRAY COWL OF NOCTURNAL V2.0 - DIRECTOR'S CUT IS OUT
After months finally I released the new v2.0. Now I can declare my mod is FULLY LORE-FRIENDLY.
- Main quest script reworked - Many scripts reworked - Performance improvements - Visual improvements - New locations - Desert area more visually interesting - New dungeon - Many optimizations - Sheogorath awaits you
Since this version have huge edits from v1.2, the update on-the-fly from v1.x to v2.0 IS NOT SUPPORTED ANYWAY. This included even if you have already installed my mod but you've never triggered the quest. You must start from a new savegame or sanitize an existing one with this tool.
This version it nullifies (fixes) all the bugs already reported.
This is also my last version of this mod. We've tested it and no bugs we've encountered. So I closed the bug section.
What a wonderful mod! I have translate this mod into Chinese. Sorry I didn't read your instructions carefully before and I'm prepared to upload it to the Nexus as your demand.Can you put the link of it to your home page?
Nice to know this mod got a bit of an upgrade (a weird one at that lol). Unfortunately there are still issues despite the aforementioned 'bugs have been worked out' notification.
I've only found 2 of the six books of Ciow Umbranox. The other four books are not in there designated locations as was the other two I found. Like they don't exist or something.
The four ghost Blades soldiers do not have the keys on them. I had to hack the mod with another mod in order to get the keys to continue.
The spellbook in the abandoned Redgaurd settlement does not appear after you've killed the cursed Drauger. Thus this quest remains unfinished.
The questboard still suffers from the same issues as it did in the earlier version. You have to active the notes slowly one at a time or else they don't trigger the quests. This is apparently not a problem in the main game, but only in this mod.
The conversation with the champion of Cirodiil doesn't function as it should. When I asked him to tell his story he doesn't move when I sit down to listen. Also he did not walk with me to the portal after the story conversation. After talking to him again only then does he walk to the portal, but the lines he speaks are as if we were standing right at the portal. After he finishes talking and disappears the portal does not active thus I am unable to finish the playing through the mod.
Somehow I can't trigger the mission. I've stolen quite a lot of stuff, and mission still haven't started. I don't have many mods. ParMa, Alternate Start, Immersive Weapons, Immersive Armors, USP
Just dropped by to say this is the best ''new'' lands mod I've played.I liked everything,and most importantly,no bugs!Well done! As a sidenote,do creatures respawn in the desert? (like Dunerippers?)
Sorry, I wasn't being clear enough. I was talking about what I believed to be a notice board in the city of Ben Erai. It would have been quite silly of me to ask about something unrelated to this mod in this comment section. I appreciate that you answered so nicely despite me having left you with the impression that I"m doing something so silly.
So there isn't a notice board included in the Grey Fox mod? Then where do I get the quest to access the Dwemer ruins in the desert? Or how do I access the central room without it?
It's been a while since I played this mod but as far as I remember there is one notice board in Ben Erai. It's right outside Black Mesa Inn. When you go to enter the small canopied courtyard outside the Inn's entrance look to your left. You'll see the board there
Kinda sad when bethesda never made a hammerfell DLC. I'm a huge fan of desert enviroment, and many thanks for the mod! You just kept skyrim more alive than ever~
what does the cowl actually do and is the quest line / 8 hours of game play worth it? there are other gray cowl mods and they add a functional gray cowl, the mod author here hasn't described in great detail what the gray cowl actually does and i was wondering if someone could tell me what it does.
Hey! I just finished playing this mod. It is pretty long and there's a couple of side quests and dungeons to explore once you reach the Alik'r Desert towards the end. Not sure about 8 hours but I felt I was exploring for a good while! The Gray Cowl does this: 200 weight capacity bonus, 25% better sneaking rate and once you equip it, you gain 1000 bounty in all of the Skyrim holds - removes once you remove the cowl itself. That means, as soon as you put it on all the guards will be following you, and stop once you take it off. I believe, and I haven't tested this myself, if you steal something wearing the cowl and then remove it the bounty will only be tied to the cowl. There are plenty of other "artifacts" in the mod that you will also stumble across, and I won't spoil those for you, but I will say there's a nice pair of boots that I find even more useful than the cowl. Hehe.

If you're talking about a mod that adds a way to start the Gray Cowl quest from the Notice Board, I don't think there is one atm.

There are plenty of other "artifacts" in the mod that you will also stumble across, and I won't spoil those for you, but I will say there's a nice pair of boots that I find even more useful than the cowl. Hehe.
