If you have time, please read "Axiy, the community and future updates" in the Articles section, and PM me if you're interested. Also, please report any bugs in the Bugs thread in the Forums section.
I'll look into it. However, I can't guarantee I will be able to do much about it. What it may be caused by is any lighting mods you may have installed, or perhaps there is indeed a bug with his armor. I'm not currently at my laptop, so I can't look into it at the moment, but I will when I have time. I'll do my best though.
If it only applies to the ruins though, then it won't matter awfully, as if he's fine everywhere else, it should be okay. However, if I can replicate the bug, I may move Axiy from the inside of the ruins to standing outside.
If you use some high resolution re-texture for dwemer armor/metal, some computer could have this problem, not loading correctly the texture. In this case: -save the game; -exit to desktop; -load again the save. usually works.
I'm not getting a bug with his armor. Can you PM me your load order so I can get a better understanding of what might be causing it? Also, if you're using any armor retextures, please let me know too.
I'm also having the issue with his armor. Up close, the cloth appears. Right on top of him, the armor above the cloth appears.
I've tried saving and reloading as someone suggested, and the armored portions showed up, but the cloth was still invisible. And after a minute or two, the armor was invisible again. This is in a very minimally modded game just for testing followers, so I have no texture replacers or lighting mods or anything.
It's a shame, because I love how he looks! And it looks like in version 2, he'll look completely different. :(
On the off chance that you're still working on this or I just missed a SE version with updated assets and quests, I just want to say that imo out of all the dwemer mods on the site, yours seems the most practical/lore friendly.
The article you published gave an excellent very bethesda-y feel to it, even if you've given up on the project, I am very grateful for you putting your thoughts out there on what you believe would have been a great dwemer questline for skyrim.
Interesting mod. If your still planning on adding the Dwemer in a lore friendly way, I think its possible using last events in the Elder Scrolls series.
In Morrowind, the dunmer Wizard Divayth Fyr had female clones of himself and now that corprus disease is cured, he should be able to make female clones of the last living Dwemer, Yagrum Bagarn. Since hundreds of years has passed by since Morrowind, there could be a significant Dwemer colony. Yagrum Bagarn himself may still be alive because he is an elf, or because a cured corprus disease retains benefits of the disease like immortality and disease immunity.
The Dwemer colony could have enemies like the Falmer, but Divayth Fyr would likely still be helping the new Dwemer colony.
This plot could bring the Dwemer back in a lore friendly way, and preserve the mystery of the Dwemer disappearance.
I really like Axiy's appearance in your showcased screenshots. However, I would prefer if he is voiced... so I read that you are making him voiced, but are changing his appearance. Ack!! I like his original appearance far better. He looked like a tolkein dwarf, except for lack of shortness, which is a plus. He was quite handsome. Now he looks more villainous. Hmm. Maybe you can make an optional appearance replacer to overwrite his new appearance, after you update your mod.
