UPDATE: I added downloads for just the face and body textures for people who are using the children clothing in my RUSTIC CLOTHING mod.
FOR THOSE WHO DON'T READ DESCRIPTIONS:
MY TEXTURES ARE FOR THE ORIGINAL BETHESDA MESHES ONLY. They are not designed to be compatible with other children overhauls like RS Children, TK Children, or Skyrim Child Overhaul (for example).
My clothing textures should be compatible with children clothing replacer mods, such as Prince and the Pauper. If you load my mod after, my clothing textures will take the place of the default outfits.
It took a long time to work out these retextures, but I think it was worth it. I was pleased to find that a retexture was enough to improve the children's appearance without having to resort to new meshes (which I can't make anyway).
Post your comments and queries here. The gallery is open, so feel free to post your screenshots. I always enjoy seeing those.
I hope people enjoy this new entry in my Rustic retexture series.
Cheers, Gamwich
Thanks for all kind comments and endorsements. I was frankly amazed at how fast this mod got to the Hot Files section. I guess people really hated the vanilla children as much as I did.
Yeah, just manually download and put into the data folder. :)
Edit: Apparently, from what I've read in some comments below, the option that replaces only the bodies works fine with SSE, while the clothes mesh from the full version can cause game instabilities if it's not optimized for SSE. Some users reported not having any issues, though (which I also didn't have), but I would still suggest that you download the body version only, just to be safe.
I wish I had found this sooner. RS Children makes kids look just a little too 'pretty', for lack of a better term. Not like normal human children at all. This is so much more realistic.
Gosh I just like all of Gamwich's mods so much. I saw this could be used in SE and I REALLY like it. I was using RS Children the last few playthroughs but there are several patches and eh. This is simple and looks great.
Oh though, btw, when I load this into MO2 (I download manually then install) when I right click and visit the mod on Nexus, it takes me to this incorrect link instead of here.
This is just a mesh/texture replacer so will be perfectly safe to install/uninstall mid-playthrough. Fully compatible with Interesting NPCs, Inconsequential NPCs or any other mod that adds children.
If you download the clothing version, you'll have to convert the meshes using Cathedral Assets Optimiser or NIF Optimiser but the body version will be fine out of the box as it only includes textures. I'd recommend using Rustic Clothing for SE as that already includes the child clothing changes (and is simply the best vanilla clothing texture replacer IMHO).

Other child overhauls were just a bit much for me and this does exactly what I wanted, just makes them look much better! Great work!

The children are just too ugly and you did a great job on improving them.
Edit: I read a few posts, looks like it is compatible. Thank you all for sharing your experience.
