I'm guessing this doesn't work with mods that changes her appearance like Seranaholic because the SKSE version does not work as advertised.
I just rescued her from Dimhollow Crypt and went outside during the day (8AM) and she's not wearing her hood.

Edit: Think I fixed it....maybe. I had to use console commands to make her equip the hood. Maybe now the script will work as it should

This mod works with other mods that change her appearance such as Seranaholic.

Prior to v2.1.1 there used to be a bug that prevented Serana from ever equipping the hood when the mod is installed on a new game. Since you installed v2.1.1 just yesterday, this is very likely the issue you run into. The fix isn't retroactive and you need to give her a copy of the hood to work again.

Thanks for the very quick reply. After I gave her the hood with console commands the script is working as advertised :D
I did have an old version installed, and went to install the realistic version yesterday. Reading your description again I figured she just didn't have the hood and what do you know? Reading is fundamental. Thanks again

Your mod worked ok until suddenly she started to show some kind of bald line in her head, so I tried to uninstall it, and now she wears the hood all the time. Please send help XD

Serana's baldness is an issue caused by another mod that edits equip slots.

In vanilla Serana only unequips the hood when she is also wearing her default armor. If you gave her another armor, it's normal that she never removes her hood again.

Thank you for this! It was so stupid that Serana kept putting on that hood to block the sun after she reverted to a human, and you have fixed that. Now to find a mod that removes her fangs as a human...

Great, that was pretty annoying indeed! Is this merge-able in wrye?

    Cheers

No, because you can't merge something that doesn't exist.
This mod adds no plugin to your load order. It contains only a modified script from the Dawnguard DLC.

I like that there is a choice of simple and immersive. I've tried both. I'm liking the simple version, just to get rid of the hood entirely so Wet & Cold can just do what it does.

To be honest, I have not played with Serana yet, does she remove her hood outside at night in vanilla? Or in this mod? Or not at all? Thank you.

Vanilla: Serana equips the hood outside if not wearing a helmet already.
This mod: Serana equips the hood outside if not wearing helmet already and if she has the hood in her inventory.

Removing the hood outside at night is an interesting idea and I'll probably add this.
