Hey everyone. I've decided to leave the Skyrim modding scene. If anyone wants to take over one or all of my mods, please let me know by private message (I get email notified). Otherwise, all of my mods are distributed with full source code in the BSA file, so feel free to alter them as you wish.
I've been using this mod for a long time, and loving it. However, the Zero In function doesn't seem to work for crossbows. I'm using a camera mod, and have tried adjusting the settings for that. When my crossbow is drawn, the camera is at the normal height. Yet the crossbow still shoots about 1 1/2 feet high.
My next step is to disable my camera mod all together and see if that works. But I wondered if anyone else is having this problem.
This is a mod I cannot live without in my game. All of Jaxonz' mods are like that; they're stable, reliable, and do exactly what they say they will. They just make my game better <3
I've been using this mod for a very long time and I LOVE it! I'm not sure if you are still monitoring this thread, but I was hoping to find out if you were going to port this mod over to Skyrim Special Edition? I'd ask for your permission to do it for you, but I'm a "novice" at modding. (Nothing actually posted, and very minor tricks that are marginally successful.)
I've seen some of your other work ported over, and was really hoping that this could be included.
I too really loved this mod...so I converted it this afternoon. Here's the conversion. I unpacked and removed the BSA so all you need to do is install it in you MO/NMM
Out of curiosity, will this work correctly on a game in which some edits have been made already to fix the problem with arrows not going straight to the crosshair? (IE, i edited some stuff so that it would shoot to the middle of my crosshair instead of above and slightly to the left of it).
I've been struggling with this. Settings won't stay. I thought it was Customizable Camera causing this, but it's not. Even skyrim .ini tweaks won't stick and I have a bat file with setini settings. I's a pain in the ass no matter what I try.
Try right clicking your skse launcher and clicking (Run as administrator). This gives the game the ability to permanently edit the .ini files. Therefore any time you play skyrim, even without running as administrator, it will use the ini edits that you made when it was run as administrator.
It's sad this fellow has left the craft, as he's one hell of a coder. That being said, there's one issue I feel I should mention about this mod: Everything works exactly as advertised. The only issue, and the dealbreaker for me, is when you return to 3rd person, you do not return to your inotial camera setting. Instead, you find yourself in a close zoom of the back of your head. Essentialy the closest you can get without entering 1st person. So, brilliant idea, execution is a bit off. Kudos nonetheless.
The only thing missing, IMO, is an option to revert back to third-person not only when the bow is sheathed, but when another weapon is equipped. Sometimes frustrating to get caught mid-shooting and want to swap to my daggers but also having to take the extra second to switch out of FP manually. Still find this mod absolutely essential, many thanks to jaxonz for your great work, sorry to see you go. Maybe someone will take up the mantle someday.
I was looking for an option to switch back to 3rd person when I have a melee weapon out too. Hope someone with modding knowledge picks this up and adds that option in.
I'm trying to merge all jaxonz mods with TESVEdit merge script, but it seems that once merged the plugins are no more visible in the MCM. Anybody has some ideas why it happens ?

Crossbows use a different ini setting. This mod only modifies the settings for regular bows.

If I reactivate the plugins, they are no more visible in MCM nor seems that they initialize again.
