The last days I've been experimenting with beast races to test some features for my mod Bodytypes of Skyrim and I found funny to create a footstep set using horse sounds, maybe it can be useful for other modders working with beast races, so I share it.
So, this file is mainly a modder resource, however, there is some no modder people interested in using this, so I've added a crafting option in latest update.
Now you can craft hooves in the forge (3 versions: light, heavy and no armor) and equip them on characters.
Hooves aren't included, so you have to add them: Install meshes and textures for your favourite hooves, then copy/move meshes to Data\Meshes\EquppableHooves (male and female) and rename them as hooves_0 and hooves_1
I recommend to use hooves in combination with Greaves and Legwraps mod.
Installation
You can add a dependency to esm file or merge it with your beast race mod, then set "FSTHoovesFootstepSet" in the armoraddon your beast race are using for feet.
Doesn't include sound files, I'm actually using "IHSS - Improved Horse Step Sounds" by Crystan for horse step sounds, so all sound paths go to these files, install this mod or add your own sounds.
