Our time comes too soon at any age, from birth we feel our flesh-temples begin to decay It was the serpent who fed us the ultimate lie, it was his deceit that slowly taught us how to die.
This mod is inspired by a very popular thread at Bethsoft's Official Forums: Dead is Dead
Just one rule...Dead is Dead. When your character falls in battle or falls from a cliff, that's it. They are dead. Game over. No reloads. Feel free to restart, ( at the cave exit ) with the ole "I or II", after their names. If you so choose.
EXCITING NEWS!
(Don't be a douche, read this part.)
As of 9/14/15, Dead is Dead will be included in the Sands of Time family line of mods. This exciting merger means that you will have access to the dark and foreboding, yet beautifully enticing Catacombs--a wonderful page hosted on the Sands of Time Team's website. There, you will be able to share the details of your characters down-fall, as well as read of other not so fortunate adventurers and their departures--a very atmospheric experience that we hope everyone enjoys and partakes in.
NOTE from the Sands of Time Team: "We're so very delighted to have been able to join forces with the incredibly bright and talented Sagittarius22 and hopefully help to create an even more unique and fun experience for users of Dead is Dead. Please let it be known that the SoT team has in NO way altered his mod. We have only offered the site as an extension and 4th barrier /role-play enhancer. Sagittarius22 deserves full credit for creating this most magnificent work of art.We applaud his genius."
FEATURES:
When you first load the mod, your character is assigned a unique ID which will be stored externally. Whenever you die, this character will be tagged as "Dead" and you won't be able to load a save-game with this character. Harsh? Yeah, it sure is. This is for people who want to know how far they can go before dying in-game.
This mod works better with a new game; if you install it mid-game, you will still be able to load a save when the mod was not installed. You can still install it mid-game though, but this won't be as harsh.
Also, an extra feature: all of your dead heroes will be exported in an external text file, with information on when they died, where, and who killed them.
Examples:
Rah Azhera Birth: unknown, death: 4E201 Race: Argonian. Died in Riverwood. Was level 1 when installed Dead is Dead, and died at level 15
Sha Zhir Birth: unknown, death: 4E201 Race: Khajiit. Died in Riverwood. Was level 1 when installed Dead is Dead, and died at level 67
This .txt file can be found in your Skyrim directory (not in "Data") and is named "FallenHeroes.txt".
