edit: nevermind just use the updated version lol heyo, just in case anyone is trying to get the new bow model to load on SSE w/ Anniversary patch, I did the following and got the new models working:
Manually downloaded and extracted the downloaded file to a folder
I seem to have a problem with the bow texture it just shows a large red triangle. I thought maybe i could replace it with another bow texture but there are non and I like the look of this mod too much to replace it. what should I do??
Hi If the triangle with the exclamation mark shows up then there is an issue with the mesh, not the texture. Try to re-install the mod, and make sure if you use any mod organizer that you have admin rights doing so. If that does not work install it manually by copying the files into the right folder.
To start, the numerous weapons replacers that I've installed or looked at over the last few years have never stayed in my mod list after each run through. Now, your glass, Daedric, ebony and orcish replacers will be permanent fixtures.
I've, also, had the mesh issue with the bow and have tried to resolve it by: manually transferring the .nif file from the 7z directory to the relevant folder; putting the CLorcishbow.nif file into the same folder - with and without the original .nif file; re-downloading and re-installing - replacer v's standalone; manually installing it and setting the meshes folder as the data directory when seeing the invalid structure message. Regrettably, nothing has worked - perhaps it's because I'm using SSE? My solution was to move both of the bow .nif files out of the meshes folder so the bow defaults to its vanilla mesh while letting me keep the rest of the weapons as the replacer versions. The bow would have been nice, but not essential for my play style and this way still allows me to collect the remaining weapons and display them in my armoury along with the others you've created - they're that nice, I like to keep going back to look at them. I've seen some of the models in other mods (Mandalorian and either Immersive or Heavy Armory) and did the same with them!
Thanks for creating these - I wouldn't have a clue where to start with creating items, textures, etc. I rely on the skill of others for that.
Hi The easiest way to find the issue is to use TES5Edit or SSEEdit for the Special edition. load it with all your Mods active. expand the Skyrim.esm and find the weapon folder, expand the weapon folder and search for the orcish bow Click on it There should be only one data set (on the right side); if not - it shows you which mod changed the entries. You can see under Model the path the Mod request and when it is different it will not find the one you have installed
Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but there may be a a problem a couple of the files. In particular, the following batleaxe files;
meshes\weapons\orcish\1stPersonOrcishbattleaxe.nif, and meshes\weapons\orcish\Orcishbattleaxe.nif
If you load them into nifskope, they are very dark. Notice they have no shine when you move the model around. I don't know if this occurs in game , as I haven't tried it yet.
It looks like their "tangent space" is missing or broken. This can be fixed in the following way;
1) Open each of the nif files in nifskope 2) For each file, expand the node "0 BSFadeNode ". 3) Right click on "20 NiTriShape". 4) From the context menu, select "Mesh -> Update Tangent Space".
This will then brighten the axe and it will look correct. Then, save the file. Note you may need to save the file to the desktop first, because files in the steam directory may be protected. If so, save the file to the desktop, then copy the file from the desktop to the correct location in meshes.
Amazing mod, used it on the Xbox before finally upgrading to the PC. Haven't seen a version for the SE version, but wanted to say you did an awesome job and wanted to thank you properly since I wasn't able to on Xbox.

heyo, just in case anyone is trying to get the new bow model to load on SSE w/ Anniversary patch, I did the following and got the new models working:
Manually downloaded and extracted the downloaded file to a folderDownloaded and ran SSE NIF Optimizer on the extracted folderRepackaged the files in the extracted folder into a new zip/7z archive and installed as normalHopefully that works for anyone else encountering this issue!I hope you are aware that there is an SSE Version already. So why would anyone use this Version to run on SSE?
