Just use the quick access hotkey when the backpack is equipped and you are out of combat.
NOTE: I plan to implement quite a few features to this mod over time. So keep checking back as I have time to mature the concept. Possible Planned Features for Future Updates: -Backpack Variants -Different Textures -Option to disable forced equip when in inventory -Option to disable certain items from being stored in backpacks -Items on backpack based on whats in backpack -Possibly open backpack simply by double tapping E? Have to look into this. -Allow backpack access when equipped on follower.
Version History: 0.5 - Hotfix for backpack weight during quick access. 0.4 - Added Quick Access Hotkey ------- Added option to set quick access hotkey via MCM ------- Minor code optimizations 0.3 - Fixed Backpack Auto Equipping ------- Fixed Inventory Rotation of Ground Object ------- Added Reset Option ------- Fixed ghost weight in backpack caused by lag ------- Added Body by Leito support 0.2 - Fixed forge bug 0.1 - Initial Release
There is one major issue with this mod. Since the backpack is actually an NPC which was set to level up with the player, there is a chance of losing some of the equipment you've stored in the backpack whenever you level up. Most likely because the "backpack NPC"equips some of them and when you level up the stuff she's (automatically) equipped gets lost. It took me two days to figure this out and I lost some saves because of it. Finally found it after comparing backpack (i.e. NPC inventory) contents of two consecutive saves, before and after I leveled up, with no more than a few minutes of game play between them, and then I realized some of the armor pieces that were in the backpack are now missing. In order to prevent issues like this, some changes to the "backpack NPC" are clearly necessary, e.g. prevent her from leveling up with the player, giving her a default outfit so that she wouldn't equip your stuff, perhaps even turning off her AI or make her start the game as dead.
Came here to make the same comment! I love the mod, but this issue needs to be pointed out because it can be game braking: in my case it made me loose Morokei, the mask. What I did since discovering the bug was remove EVERYTHING from the backpack before leveling up (even though I only detected the problem with wearable items), then press "level up", and once it's done put everything back on. A little tedious, but a workaround at least. cheers
Hey. Has anyone else been getting a weird bug where equipping this makes a khajiit's hair/helmet invisible? It's been driving me insane, especially as I'd gotten used to having this mod all the time. Cheers.
I realize its been years since anyone has posted on this subject lol but I've hit a wall and figured I'd try. While I'm not having any problem switching the nif out, I CAN NOT get the textures from the custom back pack I'm trying to use to work!!! it constantly just gives me the sad purple mesh, any ideas???????
I believe there's a few ways we can tackle this problem bud. 1st.) install the mod that contains the custom backpack you want. The mod doesn't need to be activated, just installed. This should be enough to work. In the PBP mod files there are actually 26 .nif files in total that need to be swapped out accordingly with the custom bag you're going to use, such as the actual armor model that's worn (file folder named "Slot 47"), the model that's used when you first drop the bag (file folder named "Ground Objects"), and then the model that's used for when the bag is activated into becoming a container (file folder named "Static Objects"). (three different states, and twenty four different body models)
So, make sure the textures of the custom bag are installed normally, then rename the custom .nif files to match the PBP original .nif file names, then replace the PBP originals with the custom ones.
Alright. This should be it, but there's more that can be said and done if need be. I use the "Leather Backpack," mod as a replacer myself, so I hope this helps you out :D
I think the auto-equip thing makes sense. But I REALLY would love to be able to just have the backpack in the inventory when it is empty! it is quite large and I don't want to wear it with every piece of armor or clothes.
since it's been about 4 years since release, i assume this mod's not being updated anymore, but i'm gonna ask anyway 'cause reasons x.x is there still a plan to implement new backpack choices alongside this one?
are there plans to implement a port or similar mod to fallout 4?
aside from those 2 questions, i love the concept of this mod and i can't wait to install it ^^
is there any progress towards any of those future updates you posted about, especially the backpack variants? I really like this mod but the default backpack is kinda too girly for a male character.
