A/N: This mod is provided as is because I only sporadically have time to mod. I'm really sorry if this mod doesn't work for you and I can't help you with it. There are (far better!) alternatives! Good luck and game on :) 

---FEATURES--- 
> Stable all ten player horses at any given Vanilla stable, as well as at the currently active Dark Brotherhood sanctuary. 
> Buy horse armours and access faction (Imperial/Stormcloak/Dark Brotherhood) saddles to equip your horses with.
> Rename your horses and choose their coat colours.
> Smart follow, including no-follow when your character is sneaking and dismissal to the individual horse’s currently assigned stable.
> Herding, where your horse follows you and the rest of your selected horses follow your horse.
> Horse inventory (unshared), accessible either by dialogue or by activating your horse while holding the [Shift] key.
> Follower riding for each player horse, with the option to ride even when your character is on foot. This is separate from the Vanilla follower system, meaning you can have up to ten extra followers.
> Protected and oblivious horses, with no horse witnesses. All factions should ignore your horse when attacking you.
> Lesser powers to whistle for your horse to come and to settle your horse to wait, automatically added to your character.

---DESCRIPTION--- 

This mod adds dialogue to the hostlers, horses, and potential followers in your game. The hostlers include Nazir of the Dark Brotherhood, and whomever you choose for your Hearthfire stewards.
NOTE: If you're the kind of player who just wants to get on his horse and go, this mod is not for you. The dialogue with the horses activates when you mount, so you have to get through it (one quick selection) before you are given control of your horse. 

The dialogue for the hostlers is as follows: 
> Let’s talk stabling: Main hostler dialogue branch. 
> I wanted to leave my horses with you: Stable your current horse/s with this hostler and dismiss it/them, or have horses transferred from other stables. 
> I wanted to buy some horse armor: Buy horse armours or saddles. Options include mystikhybrid’s Horse Armours, faction saddles (Imperial, Stormcloak – my retex of the Imperial saddle – and Dark Brotherhood), and a bridle for bareback.
> I was wondering which Hold had the best horses: Indicate your preference for the horses from a certain region of Skyrim; the horse from this stable will be retextured to match your preference.
> I was having trouble remembering which of my horses was from where: Rename your hold and homestead horses to this mod’s default names---eg. <Player Name>’s Whiterun Horse---with the option to overwrite your manual renames. 
> I wanted to get my homestead stewards updated on the stabling arrangement: Allow your homestead stewards to access the hostler dialogue.
> Just checking in: Refreshes the mod. Use after you've just bought a new horse to ensure the mod registers it.

On mounting your horses, you will enter a dialogue with them: 
> Let’s ride: Ride. Sets this horse as your current horse and the leader of the herd.
> Let’s go: Dismount with smart horse follow. If the horse is not in your herd, it will be added to it. If you currently have no current horse---ie. your herd size is 0---the horse will be made your current horse.
> Let’s see what you’re carrying: Horse inventory. 
> Let’s get you tethered: Dismount with horse wait. Only available for your current horse; the rest of the herd will automatically wait with it.
> Let's get you outfitted: Outfit your horse with the horse armours or saddles in your inventory. Makes use of the Hearthfire style of gifting children gifts. The last horse armour or saddle you give to your horse will be equipped. The unequipped armour or saddle will be placed in the horse's inventory.
> Let’s get you home: Dismount with horse dismissal. If the horse is the leader of the herd, the entire herd is dismissed.
> Let’s give you a new name: Horse rename.

The dialogue for potential followers is as follows:
> Ride with me: Give the follower one of the horses from the herd with you, and choose if he/she should ride only when you ride, or even when you're on foot. Caution: this sets the follower as the horse's owner, so it counts as theft if you try and ride it without taking it back.
> About the horse I left with you: Choose again if your follower should ride only when you ride, or even when you're on foot, or dismiss your follower and take your horse back.

---Troubleshooting--- 

The mod doesn't recognise my horses?
Check in with the hostlers ("Just checking in.") to refresh the mod.

The hold hostlers don’t have dialogue?
Try resetting the mod with:
resetquest HSMQuest
startquest HSMQuest
setstage HSMQuest 0
Let the initialisation run its course then try again.
(You can check with sqs HSMQuest; all stages will show 1 if the initialisation is complete.)

My homestead stewards don't have the hostler dialogue? 
Talk to one of the hold hostlers and get them to teach your stewards the fine art of hostling. They should pick it up pretty fast. 

My horses' skins aren't changing? 
Save and reload the game.

The dialogue to rename my horse doesn't appear?
Although verify that the SkyUILib files packaged with this mod are installed correctly:

My follower doesn't have the option to ride?
Check that their relationship with you is good enough with:
getrelationshiprank player
Their relationship with you should be at least 1.

I just stole my own horse? 
While a horse is set as your follower's horse, it's your follower's property. You'll need to get your follower to return it. Note that this won't remove any bounty, if you've already 'stolen' the horse.

I don't have the horse whistle in my magic menu?
Save and reload the game.
