Hey everyone. I've decided to leave the Skyrim modding scene. If anyone wants to take over one or all of my mods, please let me know by private message (I get email notified). Otherwise, all of my mods are distributed with full source code in the BSA file, so feel free to alter them as you wish.
I'm having an issue renaming similar items. I noticed skyrim by default had a small problem with this, to keep things simple I have 2 glass swords, same upgrade level (legendary) so they have the same name, but they have different enchantments & uses. I noticed before throwing in mods that skyrim would have a small issue interacting with them, if I had them both favorited and tried to equip the second one via the favorite pop up menu, it would always equip the top item first, then i'd have to equip again to equip the 2nd on.
Now with renamed, which is very useful, when I try to rename the 2nd sword, it always applies to the 1st sword. So basically, i can rename the 1st sword without issue, but if I try to rename the 2nd sword, it will only apply to the 1st sword, it will even use the 1st swords name in the "Rename Object _name_ to..." text in the rename box. Any suggestions? I tried to have them in separate windows, like only have the 2nd sword favorited and try from the favorites menu but no luck, this occurs with any similar items. Even 2 glass shields, one normal, one legendary smithed, have this issue, where the non-legendary, top item, is the only thing that I can rename.
Currently, the only fix I found is to drop/remove other instances of that item from my inventory, rename them, then add the others back in
If you have two similar/duplicated items (2 glass swords in your example) and Enchant them, you're given the opportunity to change their names right before you Enchant.
Example: Glass Sword #1 - "Glass Sword of Fire" (target takes x points of Fire Damage)) Glass Sword #2 - "Glass Sword of Frost" (target takes x points of Frost Damage)
I'm confused. FAQ says follower mods compatibility issues has been resolved and no patches are necessary while the optional file (Rename Followers) in download section says "Incompatible with follower mods". So what to do here? Install the main file only or both?
This is the worst mod of all-time as i did try and undo everything and my wife(Aela) became interactable again but as soon as i entered another room(the rooms where there is loading screen, she became uninteractable again like bro who made this and i have everything updated so please please respond to this as soon as you can, please reply to this anyone i want my wife back
AN IMPORTANT TIP: I love this mod, but just a warning DO NOT RENAME YOUR FOLLOWERS, many will lose dialogue when you reload your save because upon load up the files will not recognize the new name. luckily there is an easy fix, just reset everything in the MCM menu the dialogue comes right back instantly :)
Ran into this with dogs. I suppose the solution for the dog followers is to rename them before talking to them. (also running Dogs of Skyrim) It bothered me that none of the added dogs for npcs had names, but renaming them broke the mod. :(
I did but after going thorugh a loading screen, she became uninteractable again:( Please guys help me out as soon as you can,it's been 2 real life days since this problem

Very useful. I can re-name chests, name equipment that I spawned in with dev-console exclusive enchantments, and rename "Whiterun Guard" to "Racist Whiterun Guard" when they talk s#*! about my character being a khajit. The temptation to give every main character NPC a dumb nickname is strong, but for now, I resist.
So... i found a random Hag fighting a wild atronach, i killed the atronach and calmed the Hag, then proceeds to befriend her by premade .bat files, will this work on her ? She's cute i want to name her Rin.
Why does it seem to show a space/indent before the new name when displayed in inventory sometimes? I've tried renaming multiple times, but the space is still there
i have this problem also, cannot change case of renamed items with either CapsLk or Shift. it will appear to have correct casing "Gold Ring" but will output as "gold ring" still in lowercase
