Hey just wondering if you're still planning on porting this awesome little mod to SE. The only other drop lit torch mod currently available stopped working for some reason. Either way yours seems much simpler anyway. Can't wait to see it on the other side!

    Great mod.
Would love to have some extended feature for mages, such as, if Torches are not favorited or none in inventory, on press: cast candlelight, on hold: cast magelight.
(So I could have them all on one button, unlike what Jaxonz Lights Please offers)

is it also possible to make this mod work for smartcast mod?
basically create a spell that would do the same thing,
but have it function with the spell. instantly dropping of the torch as it functions with smartcast.

Hi, Would you please add a separate optional version of your file without any additional features? It shouldn't be so hard since you've already made this whole mod.
To further clarify, I mean only a script which makes the dropped torch lit until picked up again. no hotkey, no skse check, no mcm menu, dialogue box or anything else... Thanks in advance if it's possible to make such a mod

This will likely require more info on my part but I have assigned the hotkeys but they don't do anything. I first used Num + and - and then switched to regular + and - keys. Even if I manually equip a torch, the hot key will not drop the torch.

I have the required files. I don't have any of the listed incompatible mods but do have Dual Sheath Redux installed.

Awesome mod, but torches i drop from my inventory a lot of the times end up being lit, if i drop a torch via my inventory because i am over-encumbered, this makes the dungeon im in now be lit up and there goes my sneaking attempt sometimes it will drop as an unlit torch but it seems to be random. I wonder why torches dropped from the inventory end up being lit when that wasnt in the vanilla game and this doesnt modify any assets? mod works perfectly by the way and i can live with this downside, for now ill just have to drop something that isnt a torch, run away into a place i will never walk ever, and drop the torches over there and then backtrack.... but just wondering, if this is able to be worked around, it would make the mod that much better and complete.

Also like, when i drop 6 torches, there will be one unlit torch model with 4 of them stored in it dropped, and 2 other lit ones seperate from that counting as one torch each...wierd, and this seems to be pretty random, im just describing one behavior but really the results from dropping torches in the inventory seem to be very random and unpredictable

Still happily using the mod, the drop torch and equip torch hotkeys are invaluable and work great, but playing a hardcore game like Requiem and needing to drop an extra torch for encumbrance's sake, and having it suddenly light up the whole room, ya get what im saying

Hmm, torches you drop manually from the inventory are not affected by this mod at all... not directly at least. The mod does nothing when you drop a torch like that. But maybe the game remembers the last state of a torch or something, and if they were lit once you picked them up, they would be lit when you drop them?

It's a result of vanilla scripting. If you pick up a torch dropped by a NPC that is lit it will stay so the first time you drop it back on the ground, you either have to place them into containers or drop them and pick them back up atleast once before the scripting changes to make them unlit when you drop them. Torches taken from containers or scones will self extinguish properly the first time.
The random nature of the torches you're dropping is most likely that you're picking them up from the ground and scones. Usually it's best to place them into any container or dead body's inventory, it also makes it easier for the games engine to remove them properly when the cell resets.

Great, thanks for the notice. When SKSE and SkyUI are ported to the Special Edition, I will port this mod over as well.
