As most brutal warriors are, he was watched by the Daedra lord Mehrune's Dagon and was selected to be reincarnated and to continue on fighting as brutally as he was before. You happen to stumble upon him in Ivarstead within the Inn, and he is surprisingly friendly towards you and is willing to follow you into battle. It is up to you to have him as a follower.
