NOTE TO ANYONE WHO HAS MY CONTENT IN THEIR MODS: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SELL MY WORK ON THE STEAM WORKSHOP. My work is not allowed on and has never been allowed on Steam's Workshop. This is exactly the reason I originally said no to anyone wanting to use my content. And now here we are. Valve has turned into EA. Immediate action will be taken against anyone attempting to profit from my work.
EDIT: We won. The community came together like never before and brought two exploitative powerhouses, Valve and Bethesda, to their knees. You guys are awesome!
A short story By Mr. Dave
One day some modders were hanging out at a bus stop, when along came a guy with a Bethesda shirt on. He tossed a quarter under the bus, and one of the modders jumped to grab it, subsequently getting run over. All of the other modders looked down at him and said in unison, "Well, that certainly was stupid.", to which the now injured modder exclaimed, "You're just haters! Wah!". One modder, now standing over the injured modder replied, "So because your greed got the better of you, you got yourself run over by a bus. And this makes us haters how? Buddy, you have some serious issues."
REGARDING USE IN CUSTOM FOLLOWER MODS: I have noticed a number of follower mods being released which include this mod, yet give credit elsewhere. I don't have a problem with this mod being incorporated into custom follower mods, but I do have a problem with modders giving credit to others for my work. If you use this mod in your custom follower mod, please add the correct credits. Thank you.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE: There are over 300 eye mods here on the Nexus alone. I'm pretty sure that no one is going to download all of them to see if this modified normal map will work with them, so please do not ask if this mod will work with [insert mod name here]. Thank you. In the time it takes to ask the question, you could have found out by simply testing it.
There is now an even smaller iris version up for those who use eye mods and are having a 'contact lens' effect happen. It is in the main file section listed as No Contact Lens Version.
Okay, there is now a beast race version up in the Optionals section. It effects werewolves, Khajiit and Argonians, since they all use the same normal map. One caveat to this is that it can make the werewolves look kinda wonky. It isn't a bad effect, but it isn't accurate to what it should be... or maybe it's just wonky on my edited versions of the textures? I didn't reinstall vanilla werewolf eyes to check.
OLD: Well... I took a video of it and it was awesome! Then I set it up on YT and published it and it turned into a slide show lol. But it still gets the job done. I put a link to it in the videos tab.
For those of you who use custom eye texture mods, can you please reply to this post with mods you use that this is compatible with for those who are curious? Thank you. I personally don't use any eye texture mods since eyes are the most common thing I make in my spare time.
Eye Of Beauty works fine with this (for me). The Beast race option also worked (superbly) on Khajiit, dunno about other races yet, but I'm sure they'll look good too.
There's a bit of misalignment while using the beast version with eyes of beauty on Khajiit. On some eye options the iris is a tiny bit smaller than the normal so you get an edge occasionally. For the most part it looks great though.
Yeah, unfortunately that is going to happen with a number of custom eyes that don't follow the same size and placement of the vanilla iris textures. I know pretty much every eye in my Eyes Skyrim mod updates have to use the large iris version, where many of the photo pasted eye mods have them either the correct size, or a bit smaller. Thanks for the heads up! The compatibility posts you guys make here really help people who want to know.
Just adding my reply... submitted two screenshots with my Altmer, both with Eyes of Beauty and your Normal Map fix installed. The "contact lens" effect is barely noticeable, and only under certain lighting conditions (it's only noticeable in one of the two images). Still, so much better than having no fix at all! I am looking at old screenshots with the same Altmer and the difference is outstanding. The eyes look so lively and healthier now. Thank you!
We are all used to seeing eyes being improperly lit in games, so seeing the bottom half being lit even in dim overhead lighting, will look like they are glowing.
Well, you better get on the phone with Bethesda and tell them it's all wrong, because that's their issue in their engine which I had nothing to do with programming. ;)
Works good with eyes of beauty. Before installation everybody's eyes looked like they were possessed by an eldritch horror in the right (or wrong) light.
Lens anyway. From a distance it looks like there are drops of frozen tears in the eyes (sclera glowing effect). I can't find an eyes normal map replacer to be happy with.
I've been offline for the past few months. I'll take a look into getting it up on Beth.net.
EDIT: Sadly, Bethesda has chosen to exclude Vista 64 users from even accessing Bethesda.net, and the CK for SSE and the GECK for FO4. So apparently, I cannot even post mods there now since I use Vista 64. I can't even log onto the site after their launcher update. I'm, about ready to just stick them on my boycott list and never buy another one of their games. Goddamned control hungry pigf**kers.
If it's through web page, you could force another useragent and lie about OS. There's nothing to be incompatible past arbitrary restriction. (Vista is 7, 7 is 8, 8 is 10 just some GUI changes here and there and unnecessary crap crammed into 8 and 10 for example.)

Thank you and endorsed.
Might have to play with the different size versions to avoid the contacts effect depending on race.
Endorsed.

Light reflected in one eye should be identical in the other eye..
( I Have Uploaded Real Eyes Screenshot To Show )
I don't see that in any Screenshots.. nor on my game.
