It works "out of the box" in SE/AE (most recent version as of now), but instead of facepaint it shows only in makeup. It even works for males, though the makeup wont be centered at all. Some of them still look good on guys.
FOR ANYONE WITH PIXELATED / LOW-RES 256x256 TEXTURES THAT WANT HIGH-RES
The mod listed in the description of this mod, it's just a high-res retexture of warpaints for SKSE, it mentions you need SKSE and assumes you HAVE a SKSE.ini file, which holds THIS line of code that enables the high-res warpaints, but that mod doesn't enable the feature.

^ You probably don't have to do anything with that, I'm just showing you what it looks like.
If you downloaded both this mod and the mod in the description properly, and it's still showing up as low-res, you probably don't have a SKSE.ini file.
Go to your Skyrim folder in explorer, where the SKSE files and the Skyrim Data folder is located, also where you probably already imported the new textures from the mod in the description, "Better Makeup for SKSE"
Check if you have a SKSE.ini file (If you can't see file name extentions, click "view" at the top left, then check the box for "file name extentions") If you do NOT see a SKSE.ini, it may be because you downloaded SKSE via the Steam application (maybe, that was what I did)
If you don't have a SKSE.ini, you don't have the SKSE feature that allows high-res warpaint textures, so this mod and the better makeup mod won't work in high-res.
Luckily you can simply add the SKSE.ini file (if you're positive that it's missing), including the feature that allows high-res warpaints.
If you use NMM or Mod Organizer (MO or MO2) it's as simple as clicking "download with mod manager"
The mod adds a SKSE.ini file, just the SKSE.ini, not the rest of the SKSE files that you already have. Enabling the mod with your mod manager OR adding the new SKSE.ini manually should now allow warpaints to use high-res textures.
Just tried the 50 piece download with AE. I have Racemenu as stated but nothing changes either on the Makeup sloder under warpaint or on the Warpaint tab in CBBE. I saw that other files were intended for use with ECE (which conflicts with Racemenu), but this one did not have that note. Am I doing something wrong?
Ikr! I'm also wondering that. Been searching for those eyes but I cant find them. I think he used the ningheim race and then went into the texture files and changed the textures of the two different colored eyes colors. I'm gonna try that. Will report back. First I have to port the Ningheim race again lol
Maybe it works out of the box for people with RaceMenu but doesn't work if you're not SKSE'd up? I would imagine you'd have to have added the line to your SKSE.ini to allow higher resolution warpaints.
The replacers work for me. I put them through NIF optimizer and installed them via Vortex. I don't use Racemenu, I use ECE. The resolutions are pretty bad though but I guess that's just an .ini setting I have to adjust!

Dowload this mod and follow the instructions in the description

I see that many are replacers, but I saw a standalone was present?
