I wanted to be able to use a circlet instead of a helmet (I just like the way it looks, especially if you're more of a mage)

It adds a circlet to the Daedric, dragonbone, dragon scale, glass, elven, steel, steel plate, Iron, dwarven and orcish armour set so you'll still get the bonuses for wearing a full set, it can be made at the forge in the Daedric category, it can be tempered and enchanted and I have added it to the levelled lists so you may get luck and find one(at the same stage as the rest of the Daedric kit).

IMPORTANT since these pretend to be helmets to be able to get the full set bonuses it is not possible to visibly equip them on a follower, you will get the armour boost but you can't see it on the character.
