I am looking for a mod that will improve the quality of the rain in the game, I use pure weather, real ice and clouds, real vision and minty's lightning, all are good mods but they don't give me the feel of rain when it is raining and I was looking at this mod and I found it confusing and contradictory, first you say... "COMPATIBILITY: This will not be compatible with other mods that change this texture."
Then you say: "Compatible with all weather mods and ENBs. I have added a greyscale version, should your weather mod or ENB bring out the colours too much or you simply don't like the colours."
Will this work with my weather mods because I am confused, i guess I will just have to try it but I just got my game crash free, I will let you know
It's great to have you back, ramcoid! I agree with you comments and am glad to see that you, like many of us here, have decided to try and put this mess behind us and just get back to playing some Skyrim.
Well said, my friend and let's hope that this whole episode, has made all members appreciate each other more and will lead to a more happier and content community.
Oohps, "RAIN" or "True Storms ... " (by fadingsignal, ok, he added sound files as well - but, concerning the graphics) is a question of personal choice/taste (like WATER - now part of ruffled feather ... - or REALISTIC WATER 2), imo. I tried both - both are fine - concerning rain, my choice currently is "RAIN" ....
I've been trying out a couple of rain changing mods lately and so far this is the only one that comes close to what I'm looking for. Particularly how it reacts to light sources-it's just huge immersion boost for me. Great job! Endorsed
Oh, an update. Can you tell me which weather ids you used for each rain type please? For some reason I can hardly notice it's actually raining. I downloaded the basic version with a plugin.
I don't know what's wrong, but I just can't see much at all. The heavy rain looks lighter than the light in previous version, and anything else is pretty much invisible. If it wasn't for the audio, I'd think the textures were missing. Also, for the heavy rain (the only one that I can confirm showing up) I get the impression of being 10 meters radius rainless bubble.
They are brighter than the last version so if you could see them then you should certainly see these. Which file did you download and I'll check if I have made a mistake with uploading it, with there being so many files to upload.
Actually, I can't really see the heavy rain either. Just these shades of lines somewhere around me. I even loaded the game without CoT and in fact without any other mods at all, and it still looks the same. I downloaded 512 version, the normal/regular one with the esp.
I looked at the textures in a viewer and the particles were actually bigger and more colourful than v2, so I was really surprised there's virtually nothing showing ingame.
I've just downloaded the 512 ESP version and everything works as it should. I'm not getting any of the problems you are describing. The textures are bigger and brighter so are more visible than version 2. Are you using any lighting or weather mods? Have you put the ESP below them if you are and the textures below them in MO?
Guess what. The f*cking ENB was messing it up, despite not using any effects. Had to edit the automatically generated enbseries.ini and replace all instances of "true" with "false".
Now I can see something:
...but I'm not sure I like it Too many colours, and again, I think you made the particles too big. I don't want to use the greyscale version though! v2 was pretty much spot on.
rainsheettiny.dds texture is now in the optionals, it was to make Real Shelter use the same texture types as this mod.
I do like the effect now because the heavy rain looked terrible in version 2 because it appeared to just be continuous lines. Now that it has it's own texture it plays it more naturally. Maybe you are right about it being a bit to bright but I wanted a more universal version which suited all types of ENBs and lighting mods and such. That was the only way I could achieve it.
You still can use the texture from version 2, just place it below version 3 in MO.
I always had the rain effect disabled in the ENB preset I use, and with this mod combined with More Rain... the combo brings substance to the words "raining cats and dogs"!
Hi ramccoid, you have got another fan. I just tried your rain mod in change for another one. It looks great and much better in game than on the pics. It seems to run fine with CoT and Minty's lightning mod on my machine - so far :-).
Thank you for another gem you provided us with ... :-)
High time you made an AIO compilation of your mods - not only for a one-step-installation, but also for (only) one comment site for all of your mods ... ;-) Kidding, I read that you have already a kind of AIO compilation on your "to do list" .... High time I endorsed, no kidding, because that should go with out saying anyway for your mods, I am currently running ...
I really pleased that you enjoyed the effect and that it plays nicely with other fantastic mods.
I will be making a compilation soon with all the ones which I feel are completed and I won't be doing anymore to. Then just adding to it when I finalise more.

Thank you "both" for sharing your work.

Medium rain - c8220
light rain - 10a23d
I hope you like this version, I'm pleased with the way it turned out.

It doesn't even translate to a screenshot! Ingame, I can see _something_ moving, but it's like ghost lines. I don't get it.

P.S. v2 had this rainsheettiny.dds texture.

Thanks very much for giving it a go.
hope this helps.

Thanks a lot, my friend, I really appreciate it.
